I've been trying to perform my due diligence before asking but the straight answer could be tough and times to achieve. With my '13 double cab LB I just want to improve the ride quality and gain the symetrical back/front end look, not trying to put it in the sky. I feel as though the combo of doing the bilstein 5100 front and rear is the best bang for the buck. I've look at IVD with the piggy back design but feel it may be obsolete for my daily driver. I have seen some people mention to do the Eibach front coils, but what series? And I am unsure of the AAL considering I only haul quads and motorcycles, nothing over kill. I also only plan to run a 265/75/16 Michelin MS2. So basically I'm asking will bilstein 5100 set at zero sit the truck level, and is the AAL necessary, and would it take away from ride quality. A pestering question I'm sure for most, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks in advance.

Got the same truck (mines v6 TRD Sport). I put the Toytec lift on which includes 5100's with Eibachs and the AAL. Also got the top plate spacers to get the full 3". That setup requires the fronts set at the second clip setting from the bottom. I don't recall how much lift you'll see with factory coils set at 0. I wanna say 2-2.5".

You can get away with the blocks but I would recommend getting the AAL (get the progressive AAL if you can afford it) for the rear if you haul quads and bikes. However the AAL with an empty box is going to be quite stiff. I have the N-fab spare carrier in the box with a 5th wheel plus the full size spare underneath and it rides pretty good. I'll even throw a couple sandbags in the back for winter and it gives a softer ride. With the AAL you can put about 500lbs in the back before it really starts to sag.

Thing to keep in mind is just about any lift will result in a stiffer ride unless you drop crazy cash and basically go mid-long travel. Problem with those are they aren't meant for hauling anything.

Whatever you choose will prob ride a little on the stiff side for the first year or so. Mine took about 1.5 years to settle and now it rides great! I would even say better than stock but thats with a constant 200+ lbs in the back.

I also have 265/75/16 BFG ATs on the TRD Baja wheel. I put the Spidertrax 1.25" spacers on all 4 and she sits real nice. Still have the mudflaps on and only get a tiny bit of rubbing on the flap at full lock. Also still have the factory UCAs and was able to keep it aligned perfectly.

    Hopefully that helps.

Yeah that definitely clarifies things up a lot. Have any picture of the finished product of your truck to see what it'll be, by any chance. Seems like what you have is the most practical set up. I'll end up going with the AAL probably then, just to have the added security when hauling my trailer and other toys.

Here's some before and afters. I had the dealership put on the wheels and tires so these are just comparing the lift and spacers.

Are the Spidertrax spacers required for that size tire? Would the tire rub more without them?

Spacers aren't required for that size tire necessarily but they do help. It's a combination of tire shape/size, wheel backspacing, and the clearance in the wheel well. Adding a lift, armor, different wheels/tires all effect this clearance. So some people may put a 265/75/16 tire on and be fine. Where others may get rubbing on the mud flap or fender or even the upper control arm.

From what I've read on this forum most guys are fine with that size. You might get a bit of rubbing on the mudflaps at full steering lock or when wheeling hard. Most guys will just remove the mudflaps but check into local regulations first. Any tire bigger than that and you will need to start trimming.

I drove my truck off the lot with 265/75/16 at stock height and was fine. The TRD beadlocks have 4.75" backspacing IIRC so that's about 3/4" out from stock which helps.

Do you mind sharing what that setup cost you in total?

I don't have the exact numbers in front of me but it was something like:

$3500 for 5 wheels and tires (-$1000 for trade in on my stock wheels/tires)
$1300 for the lift kit & spacers (from Toytec)
    $150 for alignment after

I did all the labor myself. Canadian prices too so likely much more affordable if you're in the US.

5 wheels, so did you replace the spare tire wheel and still get it under the truck? Or is it someplace else?

Got the N-fab spare tire carrier in my box with the 5th Wheels strapped in. No Pics of that unfortunately, looks sick though! I really need to get some shots and put together a build page.
