The dyno-tested TRD performance air intake system replaces the fresh air inlet duct, upper half of OE air box, air filter and inlet hose assembly. Uses a unique Intake Flow Accelerator (IFA) to smooth and accelerate air flow into the system and features an injection molded, larger volume upper air box that houses a reusable TRD high flow conical air filter. Custom-calibrated filter service gauge provides visual indication of when the filter needs servicing.

Who knows with all this put together there might be some gains or improvements. But not worth the cost of everything.

This Tacoma Pro is really nice, what it should have been all along IMO, don't like the mandatory leather and no long bed. People have been posting the msrp for a Tundra pro too high, the double cab starts at $42,945 msrp. I imagine the taco pro will be around there or even higher. I would go with the Tundra personally for those prices, but size is a concern for many taco owners. I will be trading my 08 in for a 16 off road long bed without the fancy stuff, wish they had it in cement though, the pro looks great.

im curious to see what the difference in price is between the 16 PRO and the 16 TRDOR.... i think if i took the difference in price of the two i could turn my 16 TRDOR super white into an even more capable truck... ive been looking into 2.5 Fox or Walker Evans suspension

Can you already put in a purchase order for one?? I've contacted multiple dealers in my area telling them I was interested and they said they would get back to me when they have more info on the Trd Pro.

That's the automatic. I don't think there's a "tech package" option for the TRD Pro, but maybe just a JBL option... not sure.

According to the release it will be offered in "Cement" color, such as on the Scion below. I never thought a truck would be released to make me want to part with my Gen 2, but I want this one! Make mine a MT "Cement."

I know some think people who would buy this truck are "suckers". So I guess I'm a sucker. I'm turning 29 this year and I'm pretty much done with modifying cars. It's too time consuming for me at this point, things always go wrong and I'm outside on a Sunday night trying to get that last bolt in before I have to wake up at 5am. So for me having a truck that comes from the factory very similar to how I would build it is worth the extra cash(to a point). Not to mention not having to deal with voiding warranties etc.

I was pretty much settled on the 4Runner TRD pro. And to be honest I think I still rather the look of the 4Runner but to be able to get this in a six speed manual puts this over the top.

As far as price I don't see how this would be more expensive than the 4Runner TRD pro which starts at 42k'ish. But who knows.

agreed. I mean, it's great to make mods and have it become a lifestyle, but I want my truck to serve me rather than me serving my truck. I live in an apartment building, so I just can't "spread out" and work on my truck all day, like someone with a house, garage, and driveway. Also, I work 40-50 hrs per week, so my energy is better spent on actually driving a pretty decently-spec'd factory Taco than tweaking a never-ending build.

That's a picture of the TRD Pro 4runner. The reason that they had to make that particular wheel 17" was because the wheel needs to clear the calipers. You can't put a 16" wheel on a 4Runner because of the above reason.

    Under the Radar
But.....you could put a 17' wheel on the taco trd pro, which is what I plan to do.

lol its all good u got me. either way I have contacted multiple dealers so I can be first in line to receive one of these bad ass trucks. I like everything about the pro and how it comes from the factory ready to tackle anything I will ever do with it hiking, camping, exploring to take pictures with the wife. Im 29yrs old and have a supercharged Silverado ss that I have done multiple upgrades 2 im also ready to have a truck that I don't have to worry about "as much" that I can get dirty and can take me everywhere I need to go. I was in the market for a 16 Tacoma trd off-road but coming from a specialty vehicle I have always had a thing for them, so the pro is perfect for me. It might not be for most people who like doing their own upgrades or find it cheaper to grab acouple buddies and do it on the weekend, but im done with all that for now. People who are complaining about how its going to be way overpriced for what it is just cant afford it or are salty they snatched up a 16 too early:crapstorm:
