    Sycamore is far for us westerners. There's a nice wash off 163rd avenue and grand avenue. Take 163rd north until you hit a dirt road and a slight bend. Before the bend is a cattle guard. Go over it and it takes you to the wash. There's also lake pleasant too.

    Oooooooff!!!!

    @christhebassman

    This is a very good starter for good trails/dirt roads in AZ
    https://www.funtreks.com/guide-to-arizona-backroads-4wd-trails-2nd-edition

    These are to late for this weekend, but to be aware...
    AZ State Land Trust Permit - numerous areas/trails/parking/trailheads are on or cross these and a permit is needed ($15-$20 annual). Takes about a week via mail or can be picked up at the office during normal gov't office hours
    https://land.az.gov/natural-resources/recreational-permits

    Bulldog OHV is a gated access OHV area in the east valley in Tonto National Forest. Permit is required and free, available via email or stopping at an office (again gov't office hours)
    http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/tonto/recreation/ohv/?cid=stelprdb5348179

    Other than that, pick up a map/atlas and go drive around. I've heard of some stuff west of town like Vulture Mine, or numerous dirt roads in the Wickenburg area or continuing north from there towards Congress/Yarnell/Prescott.

    If you have a valid hunting license you don't need the State Trust Land Permit. The license is your permit. Just thought I'd share.

    Or "actively searching for animals" just throw a gun in the back seat and enjoy.
