    I will be replacing the spark plugs in my 2008 Tacoma for the first time... any suggestions on which brand/type one recommends and/or has had positive results with?

    I always use NGK copper plugs in my Cobra and in my Tacoma.

    For the 2TR they call for iridium plugs changed every 100,000 miles. Not sure why. I guess copper would work just need to be replaced more often (every 30,000 miles, right?)

    Yes copper needs replaced a lot more often, but way cheaper. I do not mind replacing my plugs on my Tacoma or Cobra so it is worth the cost savings to me. The Cobra tends to get water in the plug wells so I am in there inspecting them a lot anyways.

    Also, I only see 4 terminals for the plugs- is that correct?

    If you're using OEM iridiums you cannot set the gap or you'll risk weakening or breaking the electrodes. You don't want a broken electrode welding itself to the cylinder wall and/or piston. They come pregapped from the dealer. If you're using copper plugs, the gap should be set to 0.043 inches.

    Yes, you have a 4 cylinder, so there are 4 plugs.

    Irridium plugs come pre-gapped.

    Check them if they are off take them back to the parts store. The danger is the Iridium is very hard but chips very easy and may chip when adjusting the gap.

    DENSO Part # SK20HR11
    NGK Part # ILFR6C11
    Electrode gap standard 1.0 to 1.1 mm (0.039 to 0.043 in.)

    Ngk bkr5egp platinum plug gap for 2000 Tacoma 2.7. From factory are all set at .035. Should they be .044?
