That's what I was thinking. I may check it just to cross it off the list, but it wasn't causing the actual CV shaft to move. Looking at the diagram, it seems that assembly houses the joint. Wonder if it's under greased...

Much appreciated! At least I know mine is moving relatively excessively.

So I have barely any movement on the Drivers and Passenger side. Pretty much equal.

Sight unseen, I'm gonna guess yours are moving about as much as my passenger side. My driver side has enough play to actually make noise. The passenger side doesn't move enough...almost like it can't get enough speed to strike hard enough. I'm guessing this is why when I get a lateral jolt I hear the clunk because that thing is just freely sliding in and out (TWSS).

Mine was that bad after a 3" lift. Caused several issues. Had the TSB needle bearing replacement done yesterday...cannot believe how smooth the entire truck is now, even when its below freezing which is when it was real bad before.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
The clunk on a turn isn't likely CV related since my prerunner did it. Might be a fix for some people maybe I guess.

Right, and even maybe not for some 4x4s, but we've got a lot of ideas in this thread and a lot of things to check which is good. Hope it helps someone find their clunk.

So I am beginning to suspect that my clunking and rattling sounds are related to the body mounts. I have over 200K on the truck and although I don't have anything to compare them too they look kinda shot to me. Anyway I will be replacing them next.

Ouch. Those look pretty beat up. As far as I can tell my rubber bushings are still touching the washer.

I was actually gone do a complete rebuild. But both upper and lower ball joints were still very tight. Same with the tie rods. Later on down the road I will them if needed.

Also the bottle jack worked like a charm! A little heat and those bad boys popped out like butter.

You can see the shinny parts on the bushings. I'm guessing that's where they were shifting around.

Hmm. I guess I should go rent that GoPro and see if my LCAs are moving. I just don't think a 2014 would need it yet.
