Soo..changed my oil, im assuming i put on bout..6k miles on the last oil. But, there was this white gunk under the cap. Now. Smelled like motor oil. I run short trips to work, like..60 miles a week. (6 days lately). And i let it idle a min before i leave so its not up to temp just idles low. Its a 2007 2.7 4x4 blah blah, thinking just condensation cause i dont run long trips. Considering i burn dust when my heaters on lol...worst case..head gasket? Only 137k miles

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
IIRC, this is common if you run short trips. Just water condensation. If you run their engines longer, the water will burn off.

Nothing to worry about either way.

Yep, normal. Lots of short trips never burns off the moisture.

Glad you asked the question. After changing my oil today in my '14 at 38k miles, I noticed the same thing and it had me nervous.

well most people, don't really check forums for a specific problem, to many threads for that, easier to just ask, get a direct answer, thank yall

Help someone, get helped yourself, or get out of the way and quit whining.

White goo under cap is normal, indicative of short drives and condensation not getting "steamed out" due to lack of sufficient heat.

Yes the colder temps, accentuate the moisture problem.

If you only drive short trips in the winter, (and of course if you live in a colder climate), you should change the oil and filter more frequently, in the winter.

Speaking of that, I just looked my my thermometer, at the house, and it is 2 degrees BELOW zero right now.
