Wel it's no surprise that 1st gen leaf springs suck. 300 pounds of sand makes my truck truck squat an inch and a half. Sooo, I need new leafs.

I know about dakars but I don't want any lift. I like where my truck sits. Does anyone make a strong leaf pack with 0 lift?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Any decent truck spring shop should be able to re-arch and add a leaf for about $300 unless you really want all new springs, I guess.

Go to wheelers.com they make some nice springs. I just installed their 5 leaf pack and it added about 2" of lift but I think they make a 4 pack that supposed to sit stock height.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Wheelersoffroad.com has a stock height high capacity leaf pack.

yes, get the general hd leafs, I put them on mine and it sits at stock height but it adds an extra 400 pounds payload capacity so its the perfect stock upgrade that keeps original ride height.

that said, your springs are weak so it sits lower and you will see the truck sitting a little higher aftyer because the new springs raise it back up to its original stock height

this is what you need here: http://www.generalspringkc.com/product_p/90-237hd.htm

I love mine and I put a set of Monroe quick struts up front ($100 each at rockauto.com) to replace those as well since they were so old. your front strut springs will also be worn out because they sag and weaken over time too but most people never think about replacing them. I also added a good set of heavy duty Gabriel rear shocks to complete a new suspension all the way around and the truck rides like a Cadillac now and when I put weight in the bed, its supported and doesn't squat down low

    I'll look into the generals.

I already upgraded the front to Bilstein 5100 adjustables so I'm good there.

+1 for the General Springs. I just installed them and couldn't be happier. The HDs will give a bit of lift so you could get the regulars. High quality and a good price

the regulars are weak just like the oem and the truck will squat when you put weight into it.
the regulars are not a good choice unless you NEVER put anything in your truck.

Keakar could you possibly post a picture of your truck with the Generals and Monroe quick struts? Also do you think the Monroe's would be a good match for a double cab?

not sure about the double cab but they are direct brand for brand oem replacements, same for rear 2wd shocks too. stock oem are stamped Toyota/Monroe on them and use the Monroe part number as part of the Toyota part number so they are a less expensive of a direct Toyota oem replacement from the dealer.

as for pics, here you go

I went with the heavy duty Gabriel shocks for the rear

Thanks Keakar I really like the stance. Where these pictures taken shortly after the install or was it after the springs had time to take a set?

I also went with the General Spring Heavy Duty option

I load my truck heavy most of the time.

I went with the New General Springs and Super Springs one of the best modifications I did to the truck.

about 3 weeks later and after pulling the flat boat a few times.

it never really settled at all as far as I could tell, maybe 1/2" if at all, it still sits the same today after 4 months
