Best way to make your Tacoma a modern connected car with the highest quality display (retina) available.

 

The installation instructions call for re-spooling the winch rope under load of at least 500lb. I pulled wife's Explorer on flat ground for this and it did great. I went with a winch that's rated for way more than I'll use and the bumper seems to be plenty solid.

 

Marie at Headstrong Off-road recommended OME 886 coils, OME nitro charger ARB90000 shocks, and the three leaf AAL. With the bumper and winch I got 2 7/8" lift up front and 2" in the back. Love it so far. The ride is a little stiff but that's how I like a truck to ride.

I thought about doing this with an Android tablet.

 

Where did you get the kit? I assume there is some interface that connects to a tuner (XM/Sirius), radio, GPS, etc?

So it looks like @hawkeye89 in NM has the cheapest fuel around at $1.10/gallon. We are running $1.38- $1.42 around my parts. Not bad for filing up but awful for our refineries.

Our local economy is taking a dirt nap. These oil prices are hurting us more than the 2008 recession.

 

Same here!, and they are shutting down the drilling rigs all over, lots of folks out of work.

 

And it'll be difficult to garner much sympathy. The lower gas prices are saving some people a small fortune. 16 months ago, I was driving a Dodge 2500 Hemi/auto QC 4wd that got 8-1/2mpg on a GOOD day. It was costing me an average of $145 a WEEK to drive to and from work. Gas prices tank, and I get a Tacoma that's averaging near 20 mpg. Now I'm spending $30 to $35 a week......So over $400 a month that I can spend in other places, OR, put into savings.

 

She's a beauty! We actually have a 60 Siesta that we completely re built. Still a few things that need to be re done but he she works and it's a dry place to sleep. Nice looking rigs for sure!
