FS: 10g steel skid plate

Didn't unwrap it yet, hopefully going to install it this Saturday, but pulled it out of the box and no hook anywhere. Oh well. It wasn't the main reason why I ordered it anyway, so no harm no foul.

 

That white thing is the hook you tard.

 

Alright there dude. No need for name calling. I didn't unwrap it until yesterday and realized what it was. Figured it would come wrapped separately. Now I know why there was people complaining about the plate being scratched up.

Is it not possible to get it in the silver color anymore? like in the OP... id like to retain that OEM look, and this seems like it would be the best of both worlds.

It has a big of a scratch on the "inside" part, meaning, the part that faces up, not the part that faces down to the road. Guess it makes sense that it had that scratch looking at the pic and seeing where the tow hook was placed. But no biggie, it was a tiny thing. I think eventually I'll take it off and coat it with some type of stronger liner anyway. I have a bull guard on my truck, and because I wanted to keep it on, my buddy and I had to cut into the bull guard pipe so the skid plate would fit and not hit anything. Didn't get a chance to take pics Saturday afternoon when we did it, since I had to run some errands, but will take pics hopefully tomorrow, during the day, and then post them so you all can see what I did.

 

Only offering these in black now. You could spray paint it and use the powder coat as primer?

Thanks for the heads up. We will make some shipping changes so this doesn't happen again. We do our best to ship these without any damage during transit. Always looking for areas to improve.

 

All good Matt, it is what it is. And I totally botched up my post. Can't type of beans. Didn't mean to type "It has a big of a scratch". What I meant to type is "It has a bit of a scratch". Tiny thing, nothing to worry about or that worried me at all. Feels heavy and sturdy as hell though!

 

I got mine and got it installed. Looks great but now it makes me want to paint the dumb grey piece above it black

 

I dont believe that it will unfortunately.

Real quick question, was the skid flush once you installed or was there a quarter inch gap?

I order mind a months ago, and now have the TRD words on it............ can I do the exchange? I have not install mind yet still sit in my garage.

 

The TRD stamped plates are no longer available. FWIW The TRD isn't very noticeable when on the truck anyway.

 

Well that's too bad , I was going to paint the trd so it was visible. Like others have done. O well .

 

Yeah I took a paint pen to mine. They were offered plain TRD or for extra cash he would color the letters. So I think most people took the same route as me.

 

Don't know why the TRD stamp is not avail any more. Any one have one with TRD stamp they wnna sell?

 

It's likely due to the fact that it's a copyright issue, and he cannot sell products for something he doesn't own.


A heads up to anyone wanting a TRD Stamped Skid, I may be selling my TRD Stamped Skid in a few weeks, I'll post on here when I'm ready to do so.
