I've had my '16 Tacoma for a few months and been very pleased with it. The only problem it has had was a connector not plugged in on the back of the radio. The first tank of gas was 18 mpg and the last at 22mpg.

Some owners don't HAVE the issues some of us have had. So Toyota may not have known of them since most of their trucks have 4 miles on them at delivery. WE are the beta testers.
Every Time we are the first to buy something new , The manufacturer depends on the owners to bring forth issues. If there are enough issues , a TSB is generated.

Name a brand without a TSB.......

We just bought my wife a 2016 mustang V6. Why in the hell cant toyota pat a powertrain in the tacoma like that!!?? That thing pulls harder than alot of V8's I've had. I really like everything about my truck except for the lack of power and it's inability to pull a hill without dropping into 4th. Hell, if there is a decent head wind on flat gound it will drop to 4th. I am really disappointed!!!

People need to understand the transmission as well. 5th and 6th are both overdrive gears. 4th is direct drive, thats why it drops to 4th when it needs power.

Sounds like the making of a lemon law case. Not sure what your CL post is attempting to do other than scare away buyers.

I think there was a Gen 2 Tacoma that had worse Reliability than the first year model.

Lol, you mean the 2012-2015? But yeah, a manufacturer can change their parts supplier at any time really or the parts get cheaper. I have a 2005 bought used, but I knew they were reliable before I bought in 2012 or so...

I do understand that. The mustang is a 6-speed auto also. I also understand the weight difference. But none of that would matter if Toyota would put some power under the hood. Damn, if I was concerned about fuel mileage I would not buy a truck.

Why would anyone buy this truck when you basically tell the world it's a demon... There's a reason why nobody lives in or owns the Amityville horror house. Your add basically says buy this truck, it's a POS and is messed up... Trade it into a dealer and buy a different vehicle.

Yep. Seen lots of Prius owners picking up a bag of mulch at Home Depot. You could always to that?

Don't like the tundra. Owned a truck since 1986. I'm just bitching because I know they can do it. I just don't know why they won't. For me, take that one issue away and it is the perfect truck.

Yeah, I hear you. Part of the reason the tacomas lack some of the nice features the tundra and 4R have is that they don't want to take sales away from them and also they might believe people will buy the tacoma anyway since its "reliable"

They won't take it back.... I have tried several times. The General Manager is somewhat of an a-hole (I sold Tacoma back in 05'; saw them unwind a deal for far less). Going to have to fill the bed with lemons and park in Costa Mesa at the TRD engineering office.

Hoping Toyota would notice the ad. Its also rude to fail to disclose a known issue to potential buyers....

yeah, toyota could care less about a CL add. Now go post on that dealerships yelp page, or BBB, or something of that nature then you get results.

Used to be that if there was a problem with one, the problem would be the same for all but that seems to have changed. My 2011 ACOR had some issues but my 2016 doesn't have any, yet there are some common problems in many of the new 2016, could it be part of quality control..?

Toyota doesn't give two shits about the Craigslist ad. They have your money. They have fixed your vehicle and you have chosen to park it at a Toyota dealership and let it sit.

You keep saying the service employees and managers are not competent, yet you have not taken it to a different dealership for service. You live in the region with the densest population of Toyota dealerships and service centers, yet you will not take it to a different dealership to get better help
