I just noticed this while washing my truck. Has anybody had this problem? I bought the truck new in Nov. 2007.

I think I will drop by the dealer tomorrow to see what they say - it's still under warranty.

I know this is an old thread.... but did you ever get these replaced?

I just noticed 3 of my wheels are beginning to corrode. The 4th wheel looks fine (weird). I went to the dealer and set up an appointment for Tuesday - they're giving me 3 new wheels.

I'm totally amazed this went through so easily!

Yea, I went in to my dealer and they looked at them, came out and said they are ordering 4 new wheels - no problem. I had 35,000 miles at the time. So, yes, I got new wheels!!

I had the same problem but much worse and on all four wheels.

At first I was pissed becasue the dealer called the factory rep who said Toyota was no longer replacing wheels for this problem, they are having the wheels refinished. There really wasn't much I coud do.

The dealer took my car for two days, gave me a rental and refinished the wheels. I honestly can't tell the difference between my refinished wheels and new ones. They also did a great job mounting and rebalancing the wheels and tires.

Minds didnt have any problems but painted inner spokes with duplicolor gunmetal wheel paint and cleared it with shopline clarcoat. Kind of high lights the spokes more.

2 of my wheels were blistering and corroding quite badly, but took into the dealer today and they had their wheel shop guy come look at them to possibly refinish. He said the corrosion was already too deep so they ordered me 2 new wheels, no questions asked. 44k miles. my 2 other wheels show no signs whatsoever of this apparent defective finish.

I called on the phone at first and tried the nice approach and they practically laughed me off the phone. So I went in, asked to speak to the service manager and was basically like look heres the problem, how long is it going to take you to fix it? and i've got 2 new wheels now.

I'm reviving this thread because I just noticed that my wheels are bubbling again. This is the second set of wheels & I now have 117,000 miles on the truck (82,000 on the wheels).
Has anyone had this problem on the replacement wheels? I'm calling the dealer tomorrow to check it out.

If you don't properly clean the wheels front and back corrosion will develop in northern states due to salt. Also brake dust will cause this over time if not cleaned off.

Honestly I'm surprised they even did anything at all (they don't have to). But being there's a 3yr/36k they probably honored it out of courtesy.
