I'ts time for my 07 Tacoma to bring some love since she has 70k miles, So I decided to have 5100 Bilstein front and back with a .085 lift on the front.I would like to ask your opinion which one is better the 17's 4runner trail ed.(265-65-17) or the 20's 4runner limited ed.(245-60-20)I never go off road and seldom to do some hauling thanks appreciate guys..20160214_103209.jpg 20160120_133314.jpg

    17's.

I don't think you'll get too many here that will vote for the 20's. All things being equal, I would still vote for the style of the 17's over the 20's any day. Not to mention functionality.

I'm a fan of the larger wheels. I think 17" is a bit too small, my 18's are perfect IMO. But out of your two choices, my vote goes to 20s. Sporty vs Off road kind of thing, and I like "street" truck style.

    Neither.

    16's or bust.

Lol, you're obviously the off-road junkie. :p I couldn't stand my 16s. Preference is what it comes down to. If you want a super-sporty low profile look, 20's. 18s would be the happy medium IMO.

Definitely am. Haven't been in a while due to some repairs that I need to do, but involve part replacement, but I digress. Why didn't you like your 16's?

In my opinion if you want to go for a sporty look you should be driving a sports car, or the X-Runner. That's just my opinion though.

    Nice :)
I just didn't like the rubber to rim ratio. I'll take a pic of my 265/60/18s, they're the perfect balance. Not the "limited" taco 18s, they use 55/18 for some reason, which according to the tire size calculator, is slightly undersized. I still do some off-roading, but I've always been a fan of street trucks. Just my preference. :)

265/60/18. Aftermarket with Toyota buttons for the center caps.

Makes sense. I had the Taco 18's on my 2012 Sport from the factory and I absolutely hated them, so I went down to 16's 3 years ago and have been absolutely thrilled with them since. I also see what you are saying about rubber to rim ratio, but once you lift, 18's don't really look all that good.

Were they 55/18 or 60/18? Because I agree if they were 55/18, the ratio looks like crap.
Fair enough. I don't plan on lifting mine though.

I think they were 65/18 actually.

Nice. Was it lifted a bit? I thought there would be rubbing issues?

At the time I went up in size when I got the smaller rim to compensate for diameter to 75/16.

I had mild rubbing if my caster was too low, but then again I was always stuffing the suspension, so in all truth, if I drove it around like normal I never had rubbing. I begun to rub on the cab mount after I went 2+ on the stance, which I was forced to do after I did my dual shock setup and baja fenders, but I took care of that and I no longer have any rubbing whatsoever. I did remove the fender liner so all I have in there are the bare wells.

17's with 70 series. 65 will look undersized with a slight lift. Personally I like the stock alloys you have already over the others.

My wife has a 2011 Limited 4Runner with those wheels. Have you checked your tire options for the 20" Limited yet? If not, you will find that there are only about 3~4 tire choices due to the narrow rim size. At one time I could only find 3 options. Cooper recently released one that I am running on it now.

Yeah! I'd run 15's if the calipers fit.
