Hey all- I did this in the last month (I know this is what have you done today, but...) New crossmember and skid plates thanks to the skillful work of yotamac (Ze). Also installed OME 881 coils with OME Nitrochargers all the way around with the Wheeler's 5 pack in the back. Front ground to flare 36 3/4", rear ground to flare 38". 265/70/16 tires
    random 001.jpg random 002.jpg random 003.jpg random 004.jpg random 009.jpg random 010.jpg random 011.jpg
I also fixed a loose driver's side external door handle and a loose clamp on the bottom of the passenger's window (rattled when the door was closed with window partially open).

I've used it. If you like grey after one summer, go for it. Monstaliner has a uv protectant so there's a bonus. It works well. I much prefer raptor liner though. Did my whole truck in it and it's tough shit.

This stuff? Do you know if it's the same prep work and things? Have you used it?

Prep is 95% of a decent end result no matter what product you use. It's all pretty similar for any bedliner. The raptor liner is easy to mix and sprays really nice. It's easier to spray than roll, but make sure you cover the rest of the truck. 2 coats and you are on your way.

Roller just seems like it would be easier to control. My truck bed is already lined I just want to do the body, under the body lines and maybe the skids depending on what I end up buying.

Used the old headlight boots to waterproof my retros. I'm always paranoid that I will get water in them when I wash under the hood.

The boots don't really fit the best but they work if you cut them down a bit.

LoL. I just found this post on accident. I'm seeing some fluid on the side of the engine block. It looks like it is below the valve covers so I'm thinking it is that. I have the 3.4L but I will try to see if it could be the oil pump or front crank seal.
    Thx

I have this in my truck bed now. It looks great and sprays easy. Since my bed was rusting I basically stripped the bed to metal and used self etching primer. Then I sprayed the bed. I did get a few chips in the bed because I threw a axle housing in there but it does look good. If you check out my build you'll be able to see what I did.

Lined with what? If it is the plastic liner that comes with the truck I highly recommend pulling that liner out and cleaning and painting in between the liner and bed. Because it will wear and moisture will cause the bed to rust. That's what happens to mine.

I hope that primer didn't hurt it. I no your not suppose to use self etch with monstaliner. If it's rusty you can use chassis saver as a primer.

I truly think monstaliner put alot of thought in there product. Just reading through there website and seeing there comparisons with other bed liner products, show that they really know what there doing when they made it.

Upol suggests using self etching primer on bare metal.

It's wasn't rusting because of the self etching. It was rusting because of the plastic liner. But to be honest I don't think the self etching grabbed the steel very well. And the raptor bed liner chip if you hit it. It's been a yr since I sprayed it. So I don't remember what I read about prep. But it looks clean and sprays nice. I do like the look of it.

I know it wasn't rusting because of the self etch. I was just saying that monstaliner says not to use it as a primer. And obviously if it's cracked then I would say something didn't go right. I've dragged and hit stuff on mine and nothing happens.

Well, I replaced my valve cover gaskets today. First time I've done any major engine repair, so I took my time and did it slow, took about eight hours. Truck started up fine, and it isn't leaking oil anymore. Mission accomplished.
