How are the roads? We are at Harrison and Maynard and wife works near PNC, she has a meeting at ten and we are trying to decide if it's worth it for me to carry her in. Just a couple miles but I don't know what I'll do if some idiot slides into my truck.

 

Main roads are still a little slick, take it slow and hope people don't suck if you go. Be careful with the shit ABS we have, I hit the switch to turn mine off! I was on 55 and TW Alexander, only slid pulling out onto 55 from my parking lot and TW.

How do you turn ABS off? Does holding the Traction button for a few seconds to turn off traction control turn off ABS as well?

 

We headed out this AM to take wife to work, got 2.5 miles she's said screw this, it's not worth it.

I was off anyway us kid had no school

Got the official " stay where you are " email from work.

 

There are whole threads about it for the various traction options. I don't have trac/atrac/elocker/etc so mine was just put a switch inline on the ABS wire. Tricks the ECU to think the diff lock is on, I. E. ABS off.

Yeah I've been watching those. I asked you just to get a first-hand non-idiot drivers opinion of actual conditions. News always makes a huge deal out of a little weather around here so it's hard to tell sometimes what the conditions really are without going on in it. It's really coming down here right now in downtown Cary!

 

It isn't doing shit in winston. Snowed a little last night, main roads are okay, side roads are fun

 

Didn't know if you knew about the cams, figured you could find one more localized. It's just getting worse as the morning goes. Sleeping pretty hard down here on 55/high house.

 

Supposed to warm up after 10 am or so

 

Was surprised in the difference turning the traction control off. I was able to easily make it up my fairly steep driveway in 2wd with the traction on but once I turned it all off I was spinning immediately even on flat pavement. This is to be expected of course, just impressed with how well it works.

Shit it was just snowing, then a min later sleeping, and then rain.. So I'm gonna say no.

 

radar from about 45min ago looks like mixed crap on west side of Wake County for the next hour or so anyway
