Possibly a bad design from the factory of the EVAP charcoal canister?

That's my guess. I'm sure in a year or so, I'll start having trouble with it again.

I have a V6 4runner and had the same problem recently. I don't have a code reader and it is my wifes DD so I took it to the dealership. They said it was running lean,so they cleaned the MAF and throttle body and that cleared the codes. It runs fine now so we will see how it goes.

I mean as basic as a part that they are, they should be a simple thing to fix on the manufacturer side. It just sits there and uses charcoal for god sakes. Lol. What is making you replace it over and over again? What goes wrong?

its a Toyota truck and that's all the modifications needed
I was topping it off because #1 I didn't know any better #2 it was after Hurricane Sandy hit my area and it was difficult to find a gas station open with fuel, and I was involved in the clean up of the storm so I was traveling a lot so I needed to get as much fuel as I could in the tank, big mistake tho:homer: then the starting problem happened ONLY AFTER GETTING FUEL other wise it started normally and ran like a Toyota truck

It's totally ok. Most people have no clue to change a tire on a car let alone about the charcoal canister overfill issue on every car. I didn't know about it until I learned about it when I was taking the CA smog program courses to become certified. (not saying you don't know how to change out a tire!)

What about the purge solenoid? What's that thing do? Lol. I was just seeing that its a replaceable component on the canister... For much cheaper. Lowest I've found for the canister was like $428 or something:eek:

Another question, could a bad/failing tps cause stumbling hot starts too, possibly?

And I found this canister. And it looks exactly the same as mine. But says it doesn't fit... And I checked the part number on mine and it's 35470. Amazon one ends in 35392. Wonder if it'd work?
