I am just wondering if a lot of 2016 Tacoma owners are considering upgrading to the new TRD Pro. I will just keep my 2016 TRDOR. I dont want the hassle of my wife asking me If I have lost my mind.

I will be looking into it, just trying to work on everything now. I study everything before I commit to something. Just kidding I won't be getting one it is nice and they went with some better quality components this time. But I am sure for all the extra money they are going to up charge it, you could do better yourself.

I would be very surprised if this truck is close to 40k and not more than 45k. The TRD ORs and Sports top package cost between 39-41k.

I will be buying the grille and possibly shift knob. But that is all I will be doing.

This^ Toyota will market it it as a raptor alternative, and based on current OR prices and GM's Trail Edition Colorado, etc. This truck will easily be $42k plus.

$40K+ for a Tacoma...I don't care what they put on it, under it, or in it, it is still a mid-sized truck. I'm not a Nissan fan but I think their new "top-of-the-line) truck (not the standard Titan) will sell for around $45K.

Someone will upgrade/buy one and them spend another $8K wrapping it in vinyl so it doesn't get scratched.

You can get a full-size big three with all sorts of goodies after "rebates" for easily under $40k, Toyota knows they have a customer niche.

I was the same way... I bought my 2011 Tacoma for 27k when they first came out. I luckily took very good care of it and only put 45,000 miles on it so I sold it for $24,000 which was a very good down payment for the top packaged TRD OR. I now have about $4,000 left to pay for it. I would never had dropped $38,000 on a Tacoma if I didnt have that $24,000 from my 2011 Tacoma.

Mid-sized truck with full size truck price seems dumb to me as well. But what ever, I love my truck.

Anyone who plans on upgrading things probably won't be getting one. IMO, there hasn't been any kind of Raptor competitor.
