Installed mine the other weekend and hid m switch inside my right rear cubbie.

Absolutely love the lights and @mattgecko does good work.

    Thanks!

Edit: It's worth it to buy the remote control btw.

Also interested in this for my soon-to-be-born 2016 TRD-OR Access Cab. There are already enough switches on these trucks as is.

Funny enough, I went ahead and got the kit with the switch. I'd prefer it be linked to the OEM cargo light, but the switch isn't a hassle. No regrets.

I think it would be fine, for the most part. With my luck, whatever cargo I had in the bed would be blocking the switch when I needed it. :bananadead:

After looking into it, I don;t

After looking into it, I have decided not make a kit that ties in to the factory wiring do to liability. If the installer didn't follow the instructions and caused damage to the electrical system, I don't want the headache.... Sorry guys

I do have Toyota's external bed light install instructions that tie into the cargo wiring:

Proceed at your own risk.. My bed light kit must be wired to a relay if it is tied into the factory wiring!

I do also a kit with a tailgate pin switch.

I'm having permission issues when clicking this. So these are Toyota instructions that could allow us to tie this system into the cargo light?

Is there a kit so when you open the tailgate, the lights come on automatically?

The way the remote has to be wired it is not possible to have a tailgate switch and remote.

Do you still have bed kits for the 2016 available? Not sure if I want cool white or warm ... My husband asked where is the front light bar mounted? I have a tri fold tonneau and we use the bed rails all the time will I lose ability use of that bedrail below the window? Thank you

    PM'ed

All of the light strips get mounted under the bed rails and will not interfere with tonneau covers.

    Warm white with Tri-fold cover

Hey Matt, just wanted to say thank you and that the install went in super easy. I'm really impressed how it looks in person. Can't wait to turn it on and impress the friends and it will make loading and unloading the bed of equipment after teaching scuba diving. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
