I'm currently doing a 22r to 3Rz swap. The 3rz motor I have came with no distributor, when I brought one back from the parts store and tried to put it on, It wouldnt fit because of an extra bolt that comes out of the head. The dealer service manual I have doesn't even show this bolt/stud. When I got online to try and find one that would fit I had no luck. I was told that this motor was out of a 97 Tacoma. Maybe it's not? Does anyone know where I can get a distributor that fits?

From what I've read, Toyota dropped the dizzy mid-year 1997. A dealer should be able to tell from the VIN

What do you mean by looking up the part number of the motor? By part number do you mean the searial number off the block?
