Agreed. I told the guy straight from the get go that I was taking my bed may out when I traded in my 2011. Things stay where they are with no problems with that thing.

Wondering if the undercover is the same as the 2015 model. I only saw the option for tacos up to 2015 on their website.

My truck was new as of of December 2015 and today I performed two very minor maintenance items (check pressure in tires & check oil level). I then checked the oil catch can (moved over from my '15 Taco) and wanted to share the contents it caught the truck trying to recirculate into the intake. The truck has 3058 miles so I was surprised the oil catch can contained as much . . . stuff . . . in it as it did. The liquid it contained did not appear like used oil at all in any manner. It had the consistency of water and the color of a single creamer coffee. As can be seen in the photo there was a partial layer of thicker "stuff" below the liquid. I spoke to my salesman and he advised the new trucks contain detergent oil, but whether or not this new truck has "detergent" oil or regular oil, this is not a normal liquid to be recirculated back into the intake. I am going to take the majority of the oil catch can contents to the dealership tomorrow (I'm retaining a small portion in case it becomes necessary for me to have it tested independently). At this point I am not too super excited about this finding since the truck runs acceptable, with the exception of very crappy gas mileage (only averaging about 16.5 mpg and that's driving like I have one foot in the grave) and pathetic acceleration (for a V6 AND ECT button selected). Traded my '15 Taco for this '16 Taco and all things being equal I wish I had kept the '15. I am not going to bash on my '16 Taco,20160215_151912_resized.jpg but I will say Toyota's Gen 3 WAS NOT a step in the right direction for people who really want a mid-size truck because they NEED a mid-size truck.

It's not the same. The bed size is different. Call Undercover to confirm.
I installed the Undercover SE model in mine and it is different (size/length) than the 2015 model.

Got rear ended two weeks ago, nobody got hurt. I only had the truck for two weeks. I was livid but luckily my girlfriend was there and she calmed me down. Otherwise: "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?!"
    20160131_195754.jpg
Then I got it back and the Rebel arrived. De-badged it, stickers off. Rubber bed mat. Cap-pack drawer installed.

I don't really know what I can tell you that you couldn't find way more information about. This site contains a lot of info, especially in the 2nd Gen forums. I have an ADD W1 oil catch can. It is a little smaller than some other cans but it is very well constructed. You can read about it here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oil-catch-can.312623/. I don't know how much you know about oil catch cans but they essentially replace the pcv valve and "catch" whatever "stuff" the truck tries to recirculate into the intake. Here is a photo of where I have mine mounted (there is an OEM ?10mm? screw hole in the fender wall I used). This location was perfect in my '15 Taco, but using this screw hole sets the oil catch can directly above the relays and doesn't allow for the can removal without loosening it from the fender wall and turning it slightly. The oil catch can, can be mounted anywhere in the engine bay, but I chose a location that wouldn't require me to run extensive fuel line all over the engine compartment. I had a local machine shop fabricate the current bracket for my '15 Taco so I will probably go back to them to fabricate a bracket that will work better in my '16 Taco. The can I purchased is available in many colors and I believe I paid somewhere around $85 plus shipping for it,20160215_192426_resized.jpg if I recall. Oil catch cans may seem like a novelty item. That is until the first time you see what crap it has stopped from going into your intake.
