I'll be sticking with my trd offroad. I love not having a hood scoop. My trail edition 4runner had a scoop and it functioned only the block visibility and reflect sun glare. There's something to be said for having a factory lifted truck, namely avoiding warranty/dealership hassles. I'll probably be taking my own route though.

Not a chance. I've put a shell, TRD Pro wheels with KO2's and that is all the money I'm putting into it.

Yeah! I've had nothing but good/fun experiences in what, although limited, experiences I have had in a Tacoma.

Also a big part of my next vehicle purchase will be the community (especially since coming from the Subaru community). Really happy with what I've seen with Toyota's so far.

Don't forget: and then immediately sell it.

I'm sure most will throw rocks at me and call me crazy but yes, I placed an order for one shortly after the announcement. My original intentions of me watching the live broadcast was to see what grille the Pro was going to come with, hoping it would give the much needed help the OR needs in the front. Well, after seeing it comes in Cement Gray, the same color as my '13 FJ TT, I was sold.

Now I'm the type where regardless of what trim level I purchase, I always tend to modify it. So yes, I will be replacing the Fox suspension with something better (not to discount the quality or performance of the factory Fox components). The one thing the truck really needs is a more aggressive appearing tire. Why they didn't offer it with the BFG is beyond me; well, I personally think they chose the same Goodyear as it has a lower rolling resistance therefore it helps with MPGs. Everyone wants to please the government by being eco-friendly these days.

....or I can just add the front grille, headlamps, taillamps and just replace the suspension and tires on my current model.

To me the TRD Pro packages have always seemed to just been a strut/spring combo paired with an appearance package. With the 4Runner the Trail can be more capable at rock crawling because of the available KDSS system that is not available on the 4runner TRD Pro. The TRD Pro strut system is designed for Baja style driving, going over dunes, down dirt roads real fast, etc. So to me the real question is: what are you going to do with the truck? If you live in SoCal and hit the dunes a lot, then a TRD Pro would be perfect. If you live in Colorado and hit some mountain trails, then you may want to just stick with a TRD OR.

The TRD Pro may be for some people, especially if they are buying new and like the appearance package, but for most it might just be more practical to upgrade what they already have vs. taking the hit on a trade in.

I might eventually swap the TRD suspension onto my OR, but I don't see a reason to swap out trucks.

The only reason I would buy one is the simple fact you can get JBL with a manual transmission. I cant seem to find a dealer who can put a Manual Transmission in a OF or Sport and get it with Nav/JBL. WTF?

Because of the design of the new radio, I opted for the JBL system so that I wouldn't have to worry about upgrading a crappy radio with an aftermarket unit that looks out of place. Doesn't sound to bad considering I've been spoiled by listening to the Burmeister system in Porsches at work.

Are you saying the transmission design makes it impossible to have a JBL? The Pro has both.
I just noticed, does the Pro delete the moonroof as a option?

Oh and to answer the OPs question, possibly in the next couple years. Hopefully they will have a supercharger by then.

I would take that with a grain of salt, the forum is usually smarter than the dealers/salesman. When I test drove both my 15 and the 16 I knew more than they did, kind of sad.

My local dealerships won't even take a deposit on one of these lol
If it's over 42k than that would be a deal breaker. I still love my 2013:)

I am considering it. It is set up the way I would like a truck set up, and covered by factory warranty. Make mine a Cement with MT please.
