Only time I like manual is on the street whether its a race car, truck, what ever.. I've driven both off road and will always want auto for wheeling

When I bought my Icons with CDC Valves I was very, very skeptical if it'd be worth the extra cost. I am no longer skeptical.

Since my 4Runner wears so many different outfits (roof top tent, no roof top tent, dogs and equipment, no dogs and equipment, etc) it was impossible to find a valving that would be up to every task. The CDC Valve "clicker" was the only thing that made sense and it is AWESOME.

If I don't have anything in/on the rear I can soften them up. Toss the tent, wife, dogs, gear, etc in the back and I can stiffen them to handle better and still ride really well.

I also like to turn the front and rear to 10 when I am taking long trips on the freeway. It makes the handling on fast corners much, much better.

However. If you're not regularly changing the load on your rear shocks/springs pretty drastically, it's probably (almost surely) not worth it. Is it worth it in the front? Mehhhh.... Probably not. Unless you're setting them to the stiffest or softest setting to match the rear. Yeah, the front's probably not worth it.

I think 7 is the "factory" setting. I usually use that when I have the tent on the back, and 5 when I don't. The front is almost always on 6. I'll set it to 10 "H" for long road trips, or 1 "S" if I am just tooling around offroad or I want a real soft ride.

That is true. Except for the summer my truck is almost always unloaded and do drive it around to school, gym, work, etc... You definitely notice it more in the rear with coil springs than I would with leafs, but the front may be worth it.

Look at @SixthSnail's build if you haven't, his front suspension is damn sexy...

Yeah, that's nutty. Those Omega bypass shocks are incredible but VERY expensive. PO had some damn deep pockets it looks like.

Something like that. I'm scared for when I have to rebuild them. I've heard they are really expensive to do.

I bet you could do it yourself. Next time mine need rebuilt I'll be doing them myself. Tired of paying hundreds of dollars, waiting, driving back and forth to pick them up, etc. I doubt the omegas are different than any other bypass shock... If they're not, the only extra step is to turn the shock upside down w/ the oil in it so you get the air out of the bypass tubes lol.

I don't offroad a ton. But I love every aspect of having a manual. Granted... i have never offroaded in anything but a manual.

It isn't harder, just more tiring.. I feel like I have more control with an auto since I can use both feet (one on gas one on brake) if I need to. Basically just point the tires where you want to go and ease on the gas.

I like the extra challenge. Makes me feel more in control too. But that must come with only owning a manual car

Yeah must be. I used to drive my dads old wheeler off road a lot which was manual. I did fine I just prefer auto off road.

I took a ride a few weeks ago in my buddies 2010 AC with full Kings w CDC. We did mess with the adjusters mid trip and I could tell the difference with the ass dyno.

Personally im not sold on CDCs vs a custom valve. It is a hell of a lot easier than tearing down shocks all the time though.

I think it'll just come down to if I want to spend the extra money or not. @AWilson013 @AKK do you think its worth the extra $300 for the clickers? Makes sense to be able to change it whether the truck is loaded or not, or street versus off road. Probably helps on the washboard parts to have it softer.
