Rock Sliders - Who's The Best?

Hi All,

I'm looking at Relentless and All Pro rock sliders, both around $550. http://www.relentlessfabrication.co...cts/2016-tacoma-no-drill-bolt-on-rock-sliders

Does anyone have them? Thoughts? Better options?

Pretty similar product from the big players. I would recommend whatever is most cost effective to ship to you.

I've seen the @RelentlessFab Sliders in person (my truck is the one in the photos for the sliders) and they're extremely stout and well built! The dimple fill plates are a nice option and keep almost all of the rocks from getting kicked up into your rocker panels.

 

I didn't even think of the benefit of stopping rocks with the fill plates (I have already heard the "ting ting!" from dirt roads too much for my liking). That's great!

 

SOS doesn't ship to California.

Nothing to do with SOS, except they can't physically get them here.

Maybe that has changed in the last year.

 

Got it, they're in South Carolina. Hard to imagine they can't find a carrier, I bet it's just super pricy to get it out west.

 

One thing to note, AP charges 699 for their DOM 'extreme duty' sliders, our sliders are DOM outer tubes standard across all models/configurations. We also offer 2 outer rail styles(kickout or no kickout), as well as option for the outer rail up angle or flat with filler plates too. Our fillers are $99, theirs are $129.
I personally assemble and weld every set of sliders that leaves my shop too.

 

Yeah that's why I'm going to order them and if you have a dog they can't get there paws caught in the sliders. Eric can also weld them flat for you to make them a better step if you need it.

 

Right on! Your customer service is pretty great too (Brittony is quick to respond and very helpful), I'm waiting on the CB antenna hood mount for the 2016's, can't wait to install it!

 

If you're waiting for powder coated ones to come in stock, we're expecting them from the coater tomorrow morning per my conversations with them today.

 

How about weight, what is the best option in regards to weight?

If one mounts them to a 4 cyl Tacoma, the less the weight the better.

What options would one have in this regard ?

 

.. they're meant to protect against rocks from caving in your rocker panels and to support the weight of the truck when a HiLift is needed to make a repair or change a tire.

They're not meant to be lightweight. 4 cylinder makes no difference. If you don't want that extra weight harming your mileage, then get steps instead of sliders. If you actually need sliders then mileage or performance costs don't really have a leg to stand on - they're not meant for that.
