I wanted to rig up some bed lights in my new Taco after being inspired for using the supernight leds on my boat. I wanted to hide a waterproof switch in the bed but didnt want anyone to be able to access the lights. Than I cam across Ride Controller, it comes in 4, 8, & 16 relay models that basically let you control the relays via bluetooth on your smart phone. I instantly fell in love with the idea and decided to give it a try. The 4 relay unit came in @ $249. Right now I am leaning toward 2 channels for leds, I am debating installing lights behind the grille and inside the hood scoop. I can also use relay 4 for a remote start unit if it works with the smart key. I do not plan on running any super bright off road lights but would be open to suggestions to what I could use the spare channels for. Overall I am very impressed with the unit and the app, it is simple but it works well. I installed it inside the glove box with double stick tape for easy access to add and remove items with ease.

The App is easy to use and setup. It allows for normal on off and momentary operation, custom labels, and you can remove the start button if you are not going to use it. Again simple but very effective.

Look forward to your findings. I an curious about your gas mileage though, I average about 18 to 18.5 and I have meaty 10 ply tires on steel winter rims. If I'm not paying attention it can drop to 17.5 mgp, and I have to pass a lot wear I live.

Here's the entire TSB, not just one page. This only applies to Tacomas with a 4-cyl engine and the ECU applies to the engine, not the transmission.

It would be interesting to do an oil change yourself and run it for 3k, then check the oil catch can and see what the outcome is, maybe Toyota Service is using some special "detergent" oil when we come in for service.

Love the paint job and how you left the horizontal slat in chrome. Well done! Did you plastidip or paint? Exactly what I plan to do when it gets warmer out...

Which LED light bar do you have? What size is it and where did you get it from? Are you happy with it? Any issues, condensation, etc?

Got a call around 6pm yesterday from the field appraiser. There is NO frame damage what so ever according to them. The engine was NOT pushed into the firewall. But it still might be totaled due to cost of damage. All airbags deployed ripping the seats and stuff and most the passenger side front end will need to be replaced. No "major" damage to engine except the radiator.

BUT, due to how new the truck is they are having issues getting prices for parts. SO they say. Its at the Toyota collision/body shop so i figured they'd have all the parts.... They told me within 48 hours from yesterday evening i should know for sure if it will be totaled or fixed.

Right now he said its a 50/50 chance it will be totaled.... (figured as much )
