I'm always down for a road trip, maybe do a elk hunt too, if out of state tags aren't bad

    Back with another question.
Is there any way to lift the mid section of a truck with a long travel. I have already scraped and mashed up my running boards going over little humps with a 6" and when I go to LT this will get worse. Body lift will fix nothing. Does anyone have some suggestions besides sliders and armour?

Unless you go with a taller lift you'll scrape the body. Can you post pictures of the damage so we have an idea? And what is causing it? You coming down on rocks or what?

The damage is minimal. Going over humps like this o-o > /\/\ kind of to draw a picture. The money hits the hump and my running boards have some nice bends in them. They are the aluminum ones so not very strong. Just fearing that when I go LT I'll be 2-3 inches lower so that will be buh bye running boards

Are you hitting them fast or crawling over them? Try hitting it at an angle next time versus straight on if you are crawling.. If you are going fast Im still confused I guess on how you could go that fast over that big of mounds :notsure:

Thats the best bet. You can only do so much to the truck, then it lands on your ability to drive it :D

I just crawl over em. The one is going around a corner on a little trail where I bent the running board. Guess it will be part of the game when I get my LT. That's how modding never ends right there.

Sliders will fix the problem of bending running boards and LT might as well. You'll have more up travel which could compensate enough for the lean. Are you still running a sway bar? Thats another huge factor that will help.

@BohlaaH Right now I bet you look like this off road (wheel travel wise in the front) flexing.jpg
Notice how the front tire is not pushed up into the wheel well at all causing more lean to the passenger side (where you are hitting your running board)

    crownking3126_zps06617df1.jpg

With long travel and no sway bar look how the passenger side is flexed way up and not causing nearly as much lean. Basically with the sway bar your LCA's are going to be at the same angle causing the lean in the first pic, versus no sway bar they are completely independent like in the second pic.

    Does that make more sense?

Running boards have no place on a LT truck.

That's right, but in the time it takes me to finish my build. My truck is 2015 and lifts aren't cheap so it is on my long and expensive list of mods to ditch the boards and get sliders but for now it is nice to have something to step on to get up into the truck! You are most definitely correct tho! I was really hoping to win that powerball... But I didn't so it's back to the daily grind saving my spare cash haha :annoyed::kona:I

That is probably what is happening. I drive a highway from hell 250 km to get to work in snow and such. Do you think removing the sway bar is a good idea? There is no disconnect for our trucks

You have a 6" lift right? You can always try it and if you don't like it put it back on. It's only 4 bolts I think, takes about 10 minutes.

Picked up some small goodies over the weekend. The rest of my parts show up this week  If you know anyone that would like to buy a Lund let me know. Need to make some room in the garage to start the build.
