If its your first time changeing the plugs, you will notice that the Driver Side has NGK, and the passenger has Denso Plugs. Toyota has been doing this for eons, and I really cant confirm why they do this. Useing 6 Denso plugs is what I recomend.

There's also lots of reports that the gaps are not set to the factory spec and some have reported a different gap on EACH PLUG.

Never heard of toyota, or any auto manufacturer, using 1 brand of plug on one bank and a different brand of spark plug on the other bank. I know that Toyota recommends Denson U Groove plugs on 3.4L's, all 6. Not sure about the 4.0's.

Yeah, was at 105k when I changed them, was a bitch to get them out too. And that is the truth, Toyota uses Denso on the drivers side nd NGK on the other, my guess is they have a shit ton of NGK plugs left from another model and are using them up

This^ denso plugs are the factory plugs, they are fine unless your boosted. It will take you about 1.5 hours to do all six, and I highly recommend having a pair of needle nose pliers for helping the coil pack connectors come loose, as the ones back my the firewall are a bitch to get unplugged

Also will normal needle nose pliers work or do you need the extended ones?

Chip not sure if your interested because of the distance but when your ready to do your plugs your more than welcome to use a bay at my work on a Sat. or Sun. It's heated and has a lift and i have a estimated $40k in tools at your disposal. Shop is in Canton, near Fells Point. Let me know, i'll wrench on my 4runner.

That guy did panic though.... He should have nudged the car in front of him not slam into it. Than flooring it in reverse was another mistake, driving up the side walk was about the smartest thing he did besides stopping a few blocks away and contacting the police.
