Anyone upgrading to new TRD Pro

Ah...yeah i don't really know much about their superchargers or what not. All I know is that it's more performance and that's what i'd like. Wish they just teamed up with some aftermarket or got a contract to do it so it would be warrantied.

Don't really have the knowledge or time to build an off road truck..and I just love the look of the trd pro and knowing everything is under warranty if something were to go wrong. I know if I put a lift or something on i'd screw something up.

Don't want to get off topic but what is the difference between turbo and supercharger...is one better than the other? One more reliable? Maybe toyota will invest in turbos like ford and other manufacturer's would be doing...who knows. One can only dream right?

I do gotta say though if I had an F150 I would stay away from the ecoboost, I've heard long term they weren't that great. That 2.7L seems way too small in the f150. Rather just stick with the good old 5.0.

 

Reports say the trd pro will have a 4 way adjustable seat, do we know if it will be power or that annoying pump type?

 

Thanks for the video. Funny thing is i've been watching it and I got up to the point (about 5:25) where it talks about the advantages the turbo has over the 3 superchargers and the first one he mentions is efficiency. Once I heard that, I just laughed thinking maybe toyota will come up with one of those for the 3.5.

Another funny thing is you get good High RPM power...but lacks low end like a supercharger, sound familiar?

Question is, if we do see a turbo for the 3.5, will it be as reliable as a supercharger?

 

Wont be available in an access cab so that a negative point for me. But I really want to see what it will look like in the Cement color. Im with everyone on the price, more than likely truck will be priced a couple of bucks right under $40K.

Well atleast they put in more adjustments, dont understand why they would do that and not just make it power but as long as it has height adjustment ill be happy. Wonder if all the 2017s will have a better seat or just the pro.

 

I think the adjustments and everything are the same...forward - back, tilt - forward, back. The only difference are the seats are leather with trd pro stamped on it or whatever.

 

Dam i was hoping for more adjustments, i want a 6spd and usually like to adjust the height for better clutching.

Yeah I was surprised it isn't going to be available as an access cab. My guess is that the DCSB had more sales. Still not sure what looks better between cement and white...white just always looks good.

haha true...not sure what it is about white but it always looks good...easy to keep clean, hard to see scratches. Even when dirty it always looks good. Not sure if cement will be the same, i'd have to see it in person.

 

Toyota has already invested in turbos. Came out with a turbo 4 cylinder in Lexus, so in a few years it will trickle down to Toyota.

 

Yea, I like white for those reasons. Easy to match paint too. I have a white 09 Camry SE, but honestly the paint is real soft and picks up impurities like no other... it requires a lot of love with the clay bar lol

Does anyone know when Toyota usually releases prices for the following years vehicles by any chance? Just wondering when Toyota might release the '17 Tacoma Pro price. I'm seriously obsessed

I would have to agree.....can't see them pricing the taco pro more than a 4runner pro. I was recently quoted 41k for a 4runner pro from a local dealer.
