I'm in the South Hills of Pittsburgh but work in the Sewickley area. I have about a 35 mile commute one way and pass a lot of dealerships on the way. I'm a little worried about MPG but expecting ~ 18 - 20 for a commute that is 50/50 interstate. I don't go to the office every day but also do a lot of driving for hockey. For those in the area are my MPG exceptions accurate considering the hills?

I've spent the last 25 years driving VW's. I feel your pain with odd stuff like that.

Not certain what year you're looking at but my '13 is averaging 17-19 mixed driving, the best I've gotten on the highway is 22.

Considering my previous truck was an '06 Quad 5.7 and would run close to $100 when ever I filled it up, I'm liking the Taco much mo better.

The warranty is based on the make, not the dealer.

I'd go to whomever has the lowest price to buy the truck, and the most reputable service dept for warranty work. Very rarely will you find an awesome sales experience in the same building as an awesome service dept.

You say you don't really need a truck...have you looked at 4runners? They're the same size/setup as Tacomas but SUV form.

I've considered them but they're a little pricey. Another thing is I'm sure there's a newer/nicer model around the corner.

As I look at truck I like the idea of tossing in hockey bags, scuba gear, etc. I like to shoot but I wouldn't call myself a hunter however my son has interest in it and we might go out this season. The more I think about it I might need a truck after all. :)

I agree with pittim. Bought my truck at White Oak Toyota and use Day Toyota for service. They replaced my frame and I have no complaints.
Was at the Auto show today, when I showed the wife the 2016 Tacoma's she was not impressed with the front end.

Gotcha. The nice thing about an SUV is the lockable cargo area because if you have something of value in the bed, you pretty much have to go straight home. Hockey and scuba gear can go in it, but I probably wouldn't put a deer back there haha.

My bed is empty 98% of the time, with 1.5% being hauling snow in the winter, and the other .5% misc. Some times it's mountain bikes, kayaks, etc...stuff that could easily go on a roof rack.

I've only hauled manure/mulch a couple times, and it's always been for family members (though I don't own a house so..) Everything else could have been hauled in or on a 4runner. If I wasn't planning on buying a motorcycle, a 4runner would be next for me....but then again there are hitch haulers...

Well my locker fund just went out the window. Ordered a shackle flip, a set of 12" remote reservoir shocks, hangers for the reservoirs and bumpstops. Well on the plus side the locker is all I have to save up for now........ Well except a cap and a kayak and maybe some other odds and ends. Hahaha damit I need to find a better job. O well. Can't wait for some nice weather. I need to wheel and fish.... Went today to find the creek blown up from the rain.

Looking for fishing kayak. Preferably http://www.cabelas.com/product/Emotion-Renegade-XT-Kayak/1329263.uts there was a local place with one for 299$ but they are closed till march. So idk if they still have it. Entered to win one the fish commission is giving away in March. It was nice I think it was a stealth or something.

Sweet. I see why you have a sit in and I should probably go with one like that. But I really like the sit on cuz like you said they are hard to swamp. But I also need something I can comfortably wear a life vest. I can't swim. Haha

Sweet. I have a small Jon boat I use a uscg orange life vest. But the reason for the kayak is so I don't have to get a huge drop down ball and such. A kayak would be much Easier to transport. Now I have to sell my boat.
