    Anybody have experience with them?
Looks pretty attractive for a commuter car, my commute is 65 miles each way, mostly highway and through my company I can get good discounts on new GM vehicles and toyotas.

i drove a 2012 cruze while searching for the tacoma and the only complaints i had was because it was a little supercharged 4 cylinder and the transmission felt like you literally pushed the clutch in and slowly changed gears when you punched it... but as far as just cruising it was a great car! Lots of options for such a cheap car honestly

I can't stand a slow shifting manual, the diesel is only available with an auto and I have a diesel boner.

The car was automatic, the transmission was so sluggish it felt as if the auto had a clutch lol however i was trying to drive it like a sports car.. also it was a gas, id say they will have different transmissions

    Oh, Ok.
If I end up test driving one I'll have to drive it a little more aggressively.

The diesel in the Cruze is pretty good relative to the gas engines offered in the model range. In Car and Driver testing, it achieved longer range than the diesel Jetta (before the cheating scandal).
