I seem to remember a wheeling trip where you brought a friend, who was in a jeep. Maybe you should hang out with those jeepers guys Brady...and I don't need to hear that your friend in a jeep pulled me backward with his winch because I wasn't lined up to drop into the pit at the right angle

I picked up some steel to have a roof rack made tomorrow.

The dude helping me apparently spent some time with a group of Tacomas with roof top tents doing the Macgruder. Had to of been you guys. Older guy, grey silverado, old black lab.

 

Hmmmm... I seem to remember a dodge power wagon Stuck in a pond that Cory pulled out with his Taco at Van Epps. So.. I guess it all evens out..

Yep, that's him. Small world. He has put on a few pounds since then.

He cut me a killer deal on steel, and cut it all for free while we chatted. Made me want to buy a welder.

Here's the rack I am having made... Threw it together at 3:30 this morning after seeing too many nice ones on T4R. Going to give the fabricator creative freedom on how to support the front... We'll see how that goes.

 

He was telling us all about his old cars, can't remember what they were but @velillen might.

Yeah, he said he used to own a machine shop that built race engines for 30 years. Didn't have enough money to retire, so now he's slangin' steel.

So far I am in it $111 with all my materials, and the steel already cut. I am thinking I'll be under $400 when it's done...

 

Thats a good price for sure. Coming up with it out of your head? Or have inspiration from another runner?

He's a coworker. And he really doesn't have a sense of humor either. Plus, he had just moved in. Was being nice. Also, you almost flipped your rig on that small hole. Had it not been for people with winches...

 

Ok, ordering my winch tomorrow.

Yup I remember that guy and his friend. Was traveling around going to gun shows and stuff. But do remember him talking about building all sorts of racing motors. Don't remember the details well anymore though but though his son or son in law or someone he knew took over his business and it went down hill or something.

Small world for sure though. A random guy we met in a off the path place and he ends up doing work for member here lol

 

I should change that. He doesn't have a sense of sarcasm.

 

Performance engine development or P.E.D. As their sign read? I don't remember him at the WAC gun shows though?

 

I have no idea as to what his companies name is/was.

When we met him and his friend it was after they had been to a gun show. He said they travel around and go to them. Just to look not as vendors as far as I know.

We only met him for a brief time...like 3 or 4 hours
