    Hello All,

I would like to add the temperature / compass gauge to my 2009 prerunner.

I currently have the overhead console with the garage door opener in it.

I got a part number from Toyota: 83290-04011 for $225.00. But they can not tell if that will simply replace the door opener piece or if I still need to get the whole console. I was also wondering if that part is just the circuit board or is it the circuit board with the display attached.

From the searches I have done it looks like the 2009 prerunners are pre-wired for the compass and temperature already. So I just need the gauge or possibly the whole console?

    Any Ideas?

    TIA

I have the overhead console with the compass including the wiring and plug connected to the console. It came out of my truck that was involved in an accident.

Email me and it is yours. paulbauer@gmail.com

    Thanks.

    Hey Paul,

Thanks for the reply. Is your truck still an '06? Mine is a 2009 and from what I am learning only the '09 parts will work. I don't really want to pull seperate wires for this.

    Thanks

yeah, it was an 06. Hard to believe they changed the plug end type and wiring. It looks like the same overhead console with compass and 2 map lights. If you find out it might work, let me know.

my truck is an 07' and is prewired for it. this is something i definitely want to do. However now the front of the overhead console piece is kinda sagging in the front as if the clips are grabbing all the way? anyone know a way to fix this?

If I am not mistaken I have taken off my overhead console to do the map/dome light mod and it has the harness to plug in play. All of the Taco's w/ at least an extended cab comes with one. All you have to do is plug and play!

It has been determined that the '05-'08 Overhead compass/temp consoles are not interchangeable with the '09 models.

I got a price from the local dealer and they quoted me slightly over a grand for the the complete console. Every once in awhile the console comes up on ebay but still expect to pay around $200 to $500 and they aren't plentiful.
