3" lift questions

OK i know there have been alot of write ups in the past about lifts, but I need updated information. I what all of your input on a 3 in lift. What is the best brand? Ride and handling differences? Gas mileage changes? Did you install it yourself? Pros and cons? Problems after the install? Warrenty problems after the install? Price of lift and where you got them.

Im looking at the toytec 3" and wondering if i should spend the extra $80.00 for new coils? Do I need new coils? $220 for a basic kit or $300 with new coils. Can I get it cheaper? Thanks in advance for your help!

 

Ok here we go.
*I have the toytec 3" with 884 coils. ( If I could do it again I would get the 885 coils as I hear they are stiffer and my 884's seem to be a little lower in the front, not level.) I have the blocks in the rear after the TSB was done. I also purchased all the diff. drops and longer brake lines.

*My cost was $464.
*I installed it myself with the help of a friend. With quite a few brakes and some people bothering us it took 6 hours. Could have been done much quicker if I would have been better prepared.

*I haven't experienced any problems with anything. No vibrations either.
As of lately I have been testing it out on some of the terrain here and all seems well.

 

was it hard to install the diff drop? does it help the "clunk" noise that I hear other people get from lifting their truck?

 

i've got the pro comp 3" lift from toytec and i love it. i dont have new coils i got 3" spacers on mine. it rides great. i definitely noticed a loss in power and gas mileage. for the most part the gas mileage didnt drop too bad but i lost alot of acceleration with the lift and 33's. but its worth it to me cuz it looks awesome.

 

Sorry it was half a post. I never experienced the clunking noise. I installed the drops at the same time as the lift, it was easy to install (the easiest part) My fuel mileage has droped but it is minor about a 1-2 mpg drop. That is with the conversion (tire correction) Your odom will be off because of larger tires so will your mph. My truck is 2.7 mph faster than the speedo reads, that is off by .33. Odometer reads 207 mile. Wo 207x1.033=213.8 actual miles. Divide that by however many gallons you fill up with.

Are you going for a good looking truck or would you need the 3" lift? If your going for looks alone then go inexpensive not cheap. If you need the lift then you need to look at spending alot more then what has been mentioned in my opinion.

 

how about is your odometer off when you get a lift? cuz i know the speedo is
