Added a tire carrier to the TacoAss. Plans for it include adding a plate for the pop pin (didn't feel like doing anything with that today). Will eventually build some jerry can mounts, and might do one on the passenger side, and CO2 on the driver, or just one can on either side.

Might just put the CO2 in the bed.

Super good investment imo...I ripped one on the small end but that's because I broke my cv (popped a snap ring and tulip felt apart) which allowed only the axle shaft to turn and the piece going to the diff and I had to drive home 70 miles which tore it by the small clamp! But love the boots! Especially with the boot slide mod!

My sway bar lost a nut and disconnected itself from the driver side LCA, so I went ahead and removed the entire bar. After dong the tac weld on the steering column, the handling is much better than it was last time I had he bar removed. Also without it, I don't have to hear it clunking anymore! That's a very nice thing

To be fair i was talking about your accessory placement. I really want to delete ABS if I can. Do you have the charcoal canister under the blue sea?

Also since I've had my bay look like this too, I wonder if applying never wet to a clean bay would help keep the crud off. Any potential risks to this?

I bought both just in case :anonymous:

Just ordered the first set of new tires I have ever purchased for any of my trucks. Always lucked out and they have all had new tires or I've sold them when they were do. $800+ later I feel the burn in my wallet. Not too bad though for 4 33" BFG Muds.

So I have to pull the steering rack to pull the LCA's, can I just unbolt it and move it out of the way or do I have to undo all the PS lines from the pump to the rack and the steering box?

Just unbolt it, no need to disconnect anything.

If you are simply replacing the LCA's, I don't think you need to do anything with the PS rack, other than to disconnect the OTRE's from the knuckle.

No, in the '02 model, Toyota moved a lot of the emissions stuff to the back, under the bed, on top of the fuel tank. No canister under the hood but there is still stuff under that shingle so the space isn't wide open. Here's the only pic I have that gives any more detail. Unfortunately, it doesn't show much but you can see a little under the shingle.

Not sure what the best method is to keep it clean(er). I just try to pressure wash it after wheeling adventures. It helps but over time it gets less clean even after pressure washing.

I wouldn't think so either unless the rack was in the way of you getting to something some how.

I have the charcoal canister there and it takes up just enough space where I'm having to mount my bussman box on the opposite side. So no air compressor will be going there, hello CO2 tank!

Yeah I've got CO2 but I will probably need a small compressor for my front locker (and nice to have a backup air source), so I'm thinking blue sea on top of charcoal canister or on top of original fuse box (shorter than a bussman), then remove ABS to get a compressor in.

The bolt that goes through the LCA has to come out to the rear, right into the rack.
I need to pull the LCA to grind off the old alignment tabs to install TC cam tab gussets.

you can move the steering rack around quite a bit just by disconnecting the 3 main mounts, even more so if you're removing the tie rods as well, my guess is you shouldn't have to touch the fluid lines at all. i can't guarantee for sure, never done the LCA job myself... a couple of jack stands to support the rack though and you will probably be fine. you'll find out for sure when you start taking things apart haha
