I have a base model extend cab Tacoma that already has the 3" procomp lift on it. Is the 6" lift worth in.. Any re gearing ?

@Rock Lobster I have 32s not sure if 35s would work with the 6" so I would probably run 33s

What do you expect 6" to do for you that 3" isn't?

How do you use the truck 80% of the time? That's always a good guide for build decisions.

Really I just like it for the looks. I mainly use it for the street and 30% off road @Clearwater Bill

Deaver 2" AAL in rear w/ axle shims. 285 x 75 r 16 Goodyear Duratracks. Wheelers steelies type B, AFE cold air intake. Sway bar delete. All Pro Apex front bumper (rattle canned Rustoleum primer + flat black). Plasti-dipped emblems. Mud flaps removed.
You can do 35's on a 6" lift if you so desire.

    30% is a shit load of off-roading, I'd keep the 3" lift.

Note: I do rub when I turn tight so 6" with 35's would have probably been more ideal.

6" liff is irreversible just to be clear..
You really have to be set on a drop bracket to cut your factory cross member.

You will know if its for u or not

There are plenty of guys running 35s with around 2 inches of lift. You could do it without any lift, but back on topic...

A friend runs 35s with a 6" DB lift. He still had to :sawzall: the cab mount and some other stuff to stop the horrendous rubbing.

Yeah I have to cut on my 4" so doesn't surprise me you'd have to cut on 6" also.

    Good points guys..

Don't buy your lift based on what size tires you want imo. Going to need to clearance regardless..

The fact remains tho if you really want 3+ inches of lift and you are a 4x4 the only option is a 6" DB lift.

OK you are correct. But definitely not the easiest task compared to doing research before hand to see if something you actually want..

Yeah you can always save the section you cut out and weld it back or have any shop weld it back in. I could fab up a stronger crossmember and have it welded in in no time
