That is the only one I have heard of too, that's why I am curious to hear what kit he is installing.

Thanks Jason, I'm not a fan of how high the front end sits so time to ditch the 4in lift spindles just need to find enough time to get that done

LS1-T56 swap, Z06 ported heads, cam, Titanium valves, Kevlar clutch. Now building a forged stroker (383) and all the ponies! Old setup was rod-knockin on heaven's door...
Like said above it uses the FJ/4Runner cam gussets if Im not mistaken, I forget now I was unboxing a ton of stuff yesterday, I will check the bag if I can find it to verify which cam tab gussets it uses, but they looked a little different than the Tacoma ones, I got them all welded up and ready to install today.
I gotta go get a new press this morning since I broke it pressing your axles apart last time. Going with a much larger on this time around, first time I have ever broken a press. They werent kidding when they said you need a 20 ton press for popping the clips off those axles.

Hoping to have the entire front end done today, then I still need to do the rear and add an ARB locker and compressor, a switch-pro control module and all the wiring, etc....

Oh gotcha, 4 inches is quite a bit, I have done a couple sets of the sway bar type gussets, but most dont go that route based on the extra work involved labor-wise, they are about 10x stronger than the non-sway bar type, however in order to be welded on properly the entire spindle should be removed to get good welds in those tight areas, and they also gusset the steering bar that comes off the spindle.

Hey Jason, are you set up to be able to do gear swaps on the front diff of I believe a second gen? I got hit up a couple days ago asking if I could do a gear swap and that's not my wheelhouse. If so, I'll send the guy your way if you have time.

Do any of you know of any public scales or weigh stations that I could use to weigh my rig?

I'm seeing reports of folks back east who have easy free access to scales. But I'm thinking we are SOL here in San Diego...

What you are looking for is a metal scrap yard. Just drive your truck on the scale and you get a free print out. I haven't done it. Someone here must have or know of someone.

Oooh...that's a thought. Sycamore Landfill at Mast Blvd and the 52 might be able to hook you up. :)

@Crom pretty sure most scrap metal/recycle yards have them. You pull in and they weigh you, then unload and they weigh again to get your loads weight. Bet if they were not busy they would give you your trucks weight....

I just had to have my truck weighed for registration. AAA had a list of public scales available. I ended up at a moving and storage company in Oceanside. Not a lot of truck stops around unfortunately.
