The Waiting Game...Who's playing?

Lemme just explain my whole story...

I went to the dealership mid January and spoke with them. I test drove the TRD Sport with the audio and tow package...I waited to get finances lined out before jumping the gun. I went back a couple weeks, expecting the same one to already being sold. I spoke with another salesperson who stated they are getting daily shipments but most are already sold when they arrive. There was a shipment near the back of the dealership and seen a TRD Sport, without a "Sold" sticker in it! So I go in and speak to them about the newly shipped one. My wife and myself go outside and look at it..Its a couple grand cheaper, without the audio and tech package (no dual climate control, blind side monitoring systems, no sunroof, etc.) I was completely fine with that! So we go start the paperwork and turns out a company in town purchased 5 or 6 DCSB tacoma Sports...that being one of them without a "Sold" sticker in it.

The Salesperson apologized and mentioned one like I first test drove would be in the first week of February, or it would be about a month if I didn't want the extra goodies. Got an email a few days later after a bad snow hit us, saying that the date has been pushed at least 2-3 weeks out...Does anybody else think it sounds like they've tried to just make a couple thousand more out of me? At least my father-in-law works for Toyota, and gets the TMMK discount, saving me around $3500.

I am really hoping sooner than later. I've already ordered front and rear Coverking Ballistic Cordura seatcovers and the Weathertech floor liners are in the garage. Its truly frustrating but will hopefully be worth all the while. Anybody else have any crazy dealership stories?

Dealer called and said my order for '16 Tacoma was placed, and when I asked the dealer to email me the order sheet, this is what I got. I'm a little confused becuase it says "Vehicle Change Detail". It seems to list "Vehicles to change (I have)"... Does this mean the dealer isn't placing an order, but searching for a trade with another dealer??

 

I think they are trading allocations...for example my dealer traded a DCSB OR that was originally destined for them for a DCLB OR originally destined for somewhere else but neither vehicle even existed yet...

 

Thanks for the insight! At least this must mean the dealer is trying, not just sitting and waiting

 

Placed my order around November 28. Finally got word that it is getting built next Tuesday Feb 23. And then wait for it to get to my dealer...
Total around 15 to 16 weeks.

 

I received some great news today. My order should arrive Friday pm. Can't wait to pick it up Saturday.

FINALLY OVER. Ordered 10/09/15 and took delivery 1/29/16. Had dealer install the black SR5 grill and blends well. Only chrome is the emblem.

 

Just picked up my very basic 4x4 Tacoma. Access cab, SR, 4 cylinder, manual transmission with the Utility Package.
Ordered 12/18/15
Built 2/4/16
Delivered 2/16/16
Total time 8 weeks and 4 days

 

I'm half way through the waiting game. Ordered Jan 30th, building today. Dealer thinks it will be less then two weeks. We will see.

 

The wait will soon be over. Dealer called at 11am this morning. Just came off the truck. Pick it up Monday morning. 2016 White Tacoma TRD Sport DCSB Auto with Premium and Tech/JBL. Deposit put down on 12/9/2015. Built on 2/2 in Texas. Arrived at the dealer in Pennsylvania today.

Dammit, just got a call the dates were pushed back to sometime between 20 -23 Feb instead of today.

Scheduled Delivery 2-28-16

 

1st scheduled arrival date was 2/5-2/11. Second scheduled arrival was 2/15-2/19. Today is 2/19 - it will either arrive today or I will get another promised window of opportunity...

 

The wait is Finally over. It arrived sooner than expected . It came in on the the truck this am. Will post pics later.

Ordered January 11th,2016. Built this Monday. Delivered Friday.

All I can say is my Dealer has been 100% honest with me and on top of it more than I expected.

I can't wait till tomarrow to get it.
