Jumped in my truck to get some lunch, noticed the CEL and that it wouldn't go over 40.

Checked the codes with my Ultra Gauge and it threw two, both for the Secondary Air injection Pump IIRC.

Called the nearest Toyota Dealer and Toyota Care and had it towed there on Monday.

Here it is Wednesday, after calling multiple times and getting the "Oh they just pulled it in and are checking the codes, I'll call you back in an hour" in the morning, at lunch time(this time she said they checked the codes and found a 3rd one that made no sense at all), and late afternoon. I finally started to lose my cool and the lady up front that answers the phone finally asks her boss and she comes back and says that they are pretty sure its the air injection pump, but they have to get it approved by Toyota that it would be covered under warranty. I ask them about a loaner because I don't really like driving my track prepped Miata the 70 miles one way to work, apparently they don't have loaners in the Service department, but I can rent a vehicle.

I can only imagine the suck fest it would be for someone that didn't have extra vehicles to drive.

The truck has less than 50,000 miles on it, 2015.

    Any of this sound right?

Last warranty work I had done on my Chevy Cruze was a breeze. Took it to a dealer, 10 minutes later I was out the door with a Loaner vehicle. Week later picked my car back up with a new turbo, water pump, and valve cover.

What they dont know is that I'm a skilled mechanic and have been running a body shop for 5 years now, they can't bullshit a bullshitter!

The regular warranty is 36,000 miles so you have exceeded that already. If the failed part is emission related then its covered longer.

I'm confused. Didn't you just lower yourself to their level?

Haven't lowered myself to that point yet. Only If I have to raise some hell to get it sorted out.

Well they ended up not wanting to cover it wanted to charge me $1080 to fix it. Needless to say I grabbed my dad's truck and trailer and picked it up.

Now I'm driving my truck just fine :)

Took the unit apart down to the bare motor and brushes. Found a lead broke. Soldered it and out it back together and all is well for about $30 in gas.
