I want a 3" lift. 5100 @ 0 w/ 885 requires 1/4" top plate spacer to get the full 3". Is having top plate spacer bad for the truck? Ride quality difference noticeable?

    Thanks

^ this.... however if you not currently at 3" you may have to factor in new upper control arms to get the truck camber alignment with in spec.

Dont you only need one on the left side if you have the taco lean?

From what I have read on TW, that is correct.

If I am thinking this through correctly, to get both sides to lift up to 3", I will need 1/2" TPS on the driver side to correct the lean and to get the extra half inch of lift. Passenger side would already have the correct lift, so it should only need one 1/4" TPS.

I was thinking the same thing. Is this still ok to do if my 5100s are already at the highest 2.5 setting??

Sounds like it wouldn't be an issue but I'm still a noob in lifts. Hopefully someone here can help. Or you can contact @HeadStrong Off-Road they have great price on what you need with great customer service. I just ordered my lift from them.

The OME 885X coils will provide approx. 2.5" of lift on a stock 05-15 double cab 4x4. If you want to gain 3" of lift you can run a 1/4" top plate spacer which will provide you with approx. 1/2" more lift. However you will notice the lean to the drivers side. Most people to accommodate for this will go with a 1/2" top plate spacer (which requires longer studs) on the drivers side and a 1/4" top plate spacer on the passenger side. You can also run the OME 887X coils which will provide approx. 3" of lift on a stock 05-15 double cab 4x4 and run the 1/4" top plate spacer on the drivers side to help accommodate for the lean.

Tacoma's running stock coils can sometimes still have a lean to the drivers side so it is recommended to take current measurements just to be sure.
