    Thanks. I've never heard of one of our trucks having to be weighed for registration before. Was there some unique circumstances involved?

    Do not let those hacks touch your truck, go to the SD Truck Shop and talk to James. I think when I asked him about gears it was closer to $1600

    I was registering it here from out of state (WV). If I didn't have it weighed they would go by the titled GVW which is something absurd like 8000#. With the FWC I weighed in at 6000# which saved me just over $100 so it was worth it.

    No sorry I didn't know he was looking for a locker too, just gears but I would still suggest the truck shop over 4WP.

    I got 4.56 in my rear. I want to do a locker and gear change to 5.29 if you want to do a diff swap. It is open diff though.

    The only downfall to doing that is, I won't be able to use 4 high until I can find a place and the rest of the money for the front, unless the truck shop is a decent price.

    I can hold off. I can do my gear change later. Figure a diff swap would be more beneficial to someone than me pulling out used gears since all the cost is in the labor. I only put about 2k on the gears and the last owner only had them for 6 months to a year on a lifted tundra.

    LS1-T56 swap, Z06 ported heads, cam, Titanium valves, Kevlar clutch. Now building a forged stroker (383) and all the ponies! Old setup was rod-knockin on heaven's door...

    Unfortunately I dont have the tooling for doing the front "Clamshell" type axles...I can do standard ones though, although that doesnt help somebody needing the front done too.
