Diesel benz!

 

I would consider it, but I'm looking for something to work on without being apprehensive. I'm not sure I would trust it for a DD without being prepared to weld or fabricate things for it short notice. I would buy someone elses project within reason, I like to have something to keep me busy though.

 

Yeah, I would imagine it needs work but I doubt it wouldn't be dd'able. I would try for a lower price too but he has decent money put into it so I doubt he would budge much. Might be worth checking out on the way to denver if its still available.

I am actually going to pick up an 85 solid axle with supposedly 110k on it on friday.

 

The ad doesn't say how many total miles are on it. Might be really high. It is 35 years old. No mention of rust issues either and you know there has to be rust issues somewhere on it.

I talked about selling it to my mom as a run around. Will most likely end up like my 87. Just a run around farm pickup to drive between fields and such.

 

Probably. I am getting a line of possibilities set up. We can go this weekend or the next so I won't jump on the first truck I see but if it looks to be decent condition I might get it. I am still drawn to samurais for whatever reason. Maybe its the negativity towards them by magazines or the cute little compactness. Leaning towards it currently.

 

How much are they asking for it?

 

A good enough price that i am getting a second one for no real reason.

I also had another buddy tell me about one that hit a pivot track and bent the frame.... I am supposed to make an offer. but i havent been able to catch up with him on that one yet.

More rust than my 87 but i can handle it. And price is right. 22r not re, or so jose claims.

 

Should be 22re. 85 was the first year for EFI and last year of solid front axle.
