That's actually good. I had 2 pieces of bread and peanut butter and small glass of milk.
Tomorrow a apple. If I can be stable in the am I can pull some better numbers

I'm gonna say the bread is the issue..... peanut butter is good (unless there's added sugar). Not sure about the milk. Put some PB on the apple :hungry:

edit: was it whole wheat bread?

Mike , the young Lady is SPOT on......

Whole grains only BUT I was encouraged to eat eggs and that led to the quick weight loss along with fish instead of red meat

I test after meals and #'s made my Lady Doctor happy...

I can have bread and was well under the total. Skim milk... :annoyed:
Had two :sandwich::sandwich: with the same bread. No spike per say. Body is still upside down. I'll just keep after it.
    Wheat bread
Lowest carb we could find at the time. Whole grain had a lot more carbs

:notsure: carbs yes, but whole grains are supposed to not lead to blood sugar spikes.

Steel cut oats are supposed to be good for you but the quick oats aren't - due to one being whole and the other cut.

Maybe the difference with whole wheat is that the body converts it to sugar more slowly?

Gosh Mike not only have you changed your life, you've changed the whole tone of this thread! ;)

Sorry to read about the problems Mike. You will be in my prayers.

X2 on the steel cut oats. I have them 2 mornings out of the week. Sometimes 3 if I am splurging later on for dinner on Sunday.

Forgot to add I have an appointment with the cardiologist today at 1. It is a 6 month follow up.

Didn't mean to do this by any stretch of the imagination. I am so overwhelmed right now.
I am very greatfull for all of you. You have no idea.
My wife is unbelievable. She hit the ground running with all the info and now scans books and the web for food counts. Checking amounts and double checking me. I would be lost without this wonderful person. I have no words to describe her.
My numbers continue to improve and my numbers tonight before eating are IN TARGET....
I know they won't stay there for now as my body still needs to learn and I need to also but at least I know I have a chance to keep it in the green without injections.
Again forgive me for pushing this on you all.

    Evening all:
I'm willing to listen to anything Mike, I'm open to discussion, and I may find something posted on here to be very useful in the future, or just interesting. We can't know everything, but there's a combined wealth of knowledge available on here. I can't comment because I have no first hand knowledge of what you're going through right now, if I had something to throw at you I would: other than listen to the DOC! :)
I for one, and I'm sure all the others, don't feel at all that you're pushing anything on us, surely no need to apologize.
