Not too bad, I did mine in the freezing cold laying on the wet ground wich was a pain in the ass. Worst part was having to remove the ring gear.

Yep. Ring gear is worse part. Rest is pretty easy as far as mechanical things go. Make sure you get a really flat face socket cause the bolt heads are only like 1/8" tall and tapered on the edges.

Yeah I sanded a socket down flat. Can't remember the size now or what I did with it

 

I've got plans but lack tools. First up is to finally get a blade for the bandsaw.

 

and what will you be cutting with said bandsaw?

 

If I get good news from taxes, I'll be cutting steel tubes.
Wondering about center sliders to protect transmission, exhaust, etc. Run rails from ifs skid back to about mid driveshaft. Will rip some 2x4s to mock up with wood first.

Hope to gain protection comparable to full length skids without the weight or loss of maintenance access that goes with skids.

 

I'll bet someone has pictures from AOP of that old dudes 1st gen with something similar to what you're talking about. I think @Robertocritser took pictures?
