Suspension TSB & Leveling Kit

Ok, I have a '10 Double Cab 4WD Sport. I tow a trailer often for work, so I am considering the rear leaf spring TSB. The only thing I'm concerned with is the look of the truck afterwards. I'm assuming I can get a leveling kit for the front to get her back to the way I like her? For those of you have had it done, what size kit would I need, or does the TSB really even move the back end up a noticeable amount? Is a leveling kit a DIY job, or is it best to have the pros do it? Any help's awesome.

I wouldn't go with a leveling kit... I'd much rather go with Bilstein 5100 shocks up front.

 

Hey man my dad added TSB 9sliff leafs) and a leveling kit when he first got his TRD Sport long bed... He liked how it looked but not how it worked.
You bought a sport to some extent because of the improved ride quility over the offroad I assume so....
He felt that the ride quality should be mantained
Using an bag setup in the rear gives you adjustablity of ride and ability to haul various weights while maintaining quality of ride.

For example with a TSB (stiff leaf) motorcycles and light loads on trailers feel very jumpy as does the rear of the truck.
with a heavy load the springs get weighted and the ride is like constant bottoming cause the bed weight wont allow any more suspension give!!!

With airbags problem is solved with the use of a compressor and you dont need a leveling kit cause when your not using a trailer you release most of the air pressure

I agree with Colton, Don't get a leveling kit when you can get 5100s for not much more and your truck will ride much better. You can get 5100s all the way around from Down South Motorsports who is a vendor here. The fronts are adjustable so just move them up a bit and you will be all set. I have the Rear Leaf TSB on my 2010 and it sits higher in the back for sure. I am getting King Off Road Coilovers to fix that. Good Luck.

no you dont have 5100s you have base blitsen shocks that come with the trd package the 5100s are ome and are a really good value...you can also get up to 3 inches of lift with them

 

I have a 10 DC TRD Off Road and am getting the TSB spring done on Monday. I'm planning on adding the 5100s set to .85. I think that should just about give it the stock rake again.

If ya have the money, go ahead and get all 4. The ride will be somewhat better also with the rear Bilsteins. Good luck!
