A lawyer? Wouldn't it have been less hassle to take 5 minutes and check some bolts? Or even another dealer if you don't own a wrench?

Like I said, I do not have possession of the truck, and I'm not about to accept it until it is repaired. I would have expected the DEALERSHIP to at least check the bolts before just calling Toronto and leaving it sitting in the parking lot. Now my only choice is legal.

I would have to vote "normal" to both videos. All my previous manual trucks, including a 2008 Ford Ranger purchased brand new had a very similar level of wobble. If I was on a gravel washboard road it would be much more aggressive.

I would vote for normal as well. It is more than my second generation but it does not seem excessive to me.

OP's would have to waggle far beyond those videos... to be considered 'odd'

Are you saying the wiggle is above normal or that the videos above are normal?

Question for the OP: By any chance is this your first manual trans vehicle with a "conventional" (front engine, rear drive) layout?

I say this because a typical front wheel drive car with a manual transmission has a completely different feel. Just about zero movement relating to road surface.

And it most definitely does. While in gear it will move about 3" to each side when I hit a bump. I would bet $100 that all this is is simply a broken motor or tranny mount, but the dealership can't be bothered to even roll the truck into a service bay and look underneath as far as I can tell. Whatever.. just got off the phone with Toyota Canada. Yet again I am being told this is not normal, but it will take 7-10 business days before they can do anything. The fun continues.

Yes, this is my first standard truck. Up until now I have been driving standard cars (VW Jetta and Honda Civic). I am concerned because the truck I test drove, and then re-test drove after this issue was identified, does NOT respond anything like mine. On the other vehicle, I can drive down the same stretch of road, with a single finger on the top of the shifter and I can't feel any movement beyond what I would expect - a slight vibration. My truck moves so much it's like playing whack-a-mole trying to grab the shifter without taking my eyes off the road.

Since this is my first Toyota, I have to rely on what other people are telling me, and so far, the opinions are unanimous that this is not "normal operation".

Would it be helpful to get a tech in the truck with you to drive yours and the other TRD on the lot? Otherwise it may be that your truck just sits there for now, and we all want you back in your truck...

I know you don't have it, but I wish you had video of it.

The video's from nevadabugle look to be normal to me, at least from my perspective of past vehicles. I had an old Honda CRX that had a very slight wobble to it over pot holes, but my brother's Toyota Corolla had more wobble than my car did but it didn't slip out of gear at all.

YMMV though. If it's as bad as you describe, then I would probably take the action you are taking.
