2016 NASCAR thread

Danica isn't that hot.... I could name better....

 

I don't think we should consider Danica's physical attributes unless we consider the physical attributes of ALL the drivers on track. Though, that seems kind of silly because it has absolutely nothing to do with quality of racing, the future of the sport, the lack of good leadership among NASCAR brass, or how capable a driver is at wheeling a car. She's paid her dues and been a corporate shill just as much as it took for all the other driver to get where they are (except the golden children Dale Earnhardt Jr, Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon, John Wes Townley).

 

There's some woman MMA fighter that wants to try NASCAR... I think she could MANhandle a car

 

NASCAR Sprint Unlimited:
Well that was kind of a crap show, huh? Those guys; the "Stars" of the sport, need to calm down a little bit. It's like they actively tried to take out half the field. I think we got a taste of what to expect this year: Lots of battling between Penske and Gibbs. Ganassi had cars up front most of the night too. There are some rumors of Ganassi going to Ford next year with the #1 & #42. Vickers took a mean lick early on. All three Hendrick cars had bad luck. Hamlin was the only Gibbs care to cross the finish line, but they were all up on speed all night.

Here are my hopes for the '16 season:
-Less Gibbs/Hendrick dominance
-Tony Stewart goes out with one final win (probably New Hampshire)
-Less jawing from Harvick, Edwards and Ky Busch
-Wood Brothers making it in on speed EVERY SINGLE WEEK to stick it in the faces of NASCAR
-A tight Rookie of the Year battle (Blaney, Elliott, Beuscher will be the front runners)
-Martin truex delivering for FRR and Toyota (hooray, I finally have a 'Yota driver to pull for)
-Less Jacques Debris cautions, less "Overtime" finishes

Pretty entertaining race last night I thought. Love the comment Edwards made in his interview about Brad not letting him slide in front in the closing laps of the race, then tried to cover it up by saying I'm kidding, should be a fun year between Penske and Gibbs.

Look forward to the back and forth shenanigans in here, let's try to keep it civil

I grabbed this for my little one at a swap meet two weeks ago. These things were touted as "collectors items" when I was a kid but now they're sitting in bins for $1-$2 a pop, all sealed up in original packaging.

 

Davey is/was/always will be my favorite driver.
