Yes, I agree. Maybe all they have is oil change guys in the garage, and actual repairs/troubleshooting is out of their depth? I'm totally baffled at this point.

I wish I would have rolled some video while I still had the truck. One look at this and you'd think it was a $1000 old Jeep. If I were to try and sell this truck down the road, any potential buyer would laugh at me when they saw this.

Ya, I know.. I'm kicking myself for not getting video. I didn't have the truck long enough to get the GoPro set up in it though!

Thanks for the support. The videos above would not concern me. It is more movement than I saw in the truck I test drove, but nowhere near as crazy as mine.

Toyota (at least in this region) requires the dealers to get them involved in almost everything when it comes to a newly launched vehicle. Request a test drive with the regional rep. It's out of the dealers hands.

Thanks for posting this. I need as many opinions as I can find if I'm going to get anywhere in a country with no lemon laws.

In BC at least we have a 7 day policy. That goes for any large purchase. You could buy a house from a developer and give it back 6 days later.

Great idea. I didn't know there was a regional rep, but I'll see what I can find. Unfortunately, I don't have possession of the truck, but I'm sure he can travel to the dealership and drive it himself.

It's possible that's not how canada handles it, but your dealer will know one way or another. Ask them if someone from Toyota actually looked at the truck or did they just describe the issue over the phone.

Only thing my shifter does that's out of the norm is I can spin the ball.

Did that already. I took the service manager on a drive and hit a few manhole covers. He watched the stick jump and agreed something was wrong. We got back, parked the car, and there it sat while he simply called Toronto and left a message. I sat waiting for 2.5 hours and nobody called back. My truck never moved. I'm sure if I took the 1hr drive there now, my truck would still be where I parked it.

They described it over the phone. I'm not sure if they did anything else. The service guy really didn't seem to interested. In fact... NOBODY there did. I still haven't got a reply from my emails to the general manager. I would have expected a 'all hands on deck' response when there's a brand new vehicle in the hands of a brand new Customer and there is a problem that everyone agrees is not normal.

The good old days of Toyota are dead and gone, fyi. Toyota of America has seen to it with their crappy dealerships and subpar designs. They just throw more tech at us to mask the flaws

I can go to HomeDepot and buy a chainsaw, bring it home, find out there is a manufacturer defect, and simply exchange it for one that works. If I can do that with a $400 saw, why can't I do it with a $54,000 vehicle? This is flat out ABSURD! I reported the problem immediately, and the truck only had 14km on it when I drove it away, so I know nobody else had a chance to identify this issue before me.

I expected there might be some issues with the first model year of a new generation, but I couldn't get my hands on a new 2015. I never in a million years thought I would be in this situation with such an obvious defect that is most likely dead simple to fix.

Thanks. If my truck responded like those videos I wouldn't be in this mess.

Be careful with that one, if they ask for it back you'll have to legally. It's one thing to be the squeaky wheel, but that's pushing it. Definitely see if you can get someone from Toyota to come out an look at it. If not, I'd try another dealer, this one doesn't seem to be able or willing to help.

At this point I'm going to do what my lawyer tells me. I'm out of my depth here, and this is way to much money to trust myself to sort it out alone. If they want the car they can come get it. I'm not wasting any more of my time on this dealershit.

That's the all in with the cost of financing incl at $54,308.28. Without the 72 month term interest the truck itself came to 46,894.25

    I'm in New Brunswick, Canada
