'09 season ncaa football thread

Think TCU will stay ahead of Cinci? TCU didn't play a championship game in the mighty Mountain West. Cinci won a really close game against PITT, but winning a championship game says something. I think they might just jump TCU in the polls.

It won't matter. Texas hasn't been good yet, but as hard as I'm pulling for the Huskers, I think UT is too much for them.

 

x2. As much as I want Neb to win, 30 yards of offense isn't gonna cut it against UT. They're gonna have to score more than 6 points to win it.

 

Yup. One thing I like to see is that Texas struggles when they face good defenses. Nebraska has ZERO offense, so it won't do much tonight... but Alabama has a fan-f'ing-tastic defense and a good offense. I'm not worried to face Texas in the NC, but I'm still pulling for the Huskers b/c of my dad, who went there in the 70's.

Who knew McElroy could come up big in a big game? Everyone was doubting him the last half of the season.

 

No kidding. He's still never lost as a starting QB. He did well last week against AU, too. Leading that final drive was what was needed, and he stepped up. If Julio would quit dropping f'ing passes, McElroy would look even better.

With the trio of running backs we have, opponents have to respect the run enough that even a good (not great) quarterback like McElroy can do plenty.

 

yeah but the big east doesnt have a championship game either it just so happened that these to were in the running for it and cincy scrapped by all year i like to see the big east up there but these teams need to beef up the non-conference schedule

Dude, same thing happened with AU a few years ago when you had a couple of really great seasons... and again during the 6-game streak. The number of AU flags exploded, and those damn tails popped up everywhere. All teams have the woodwork/bandwagon fans.

 

I'm not a 'Bama fan, but I was tonight...because I HATE UF and Tebow. And I will be in the NC game because I want to see the SEC win 3 out of the last 4 titles.

 

Hell yeah! I pulled for Florida in the NC last year. It was difficult, but I'd rather see an SEC team win than any other conference. I'd pull for Tennessee or Auburn, too.

Yeah.. in a perfect world. It's just easier to cheer for a winner, so that's what a lot of people do.

Wow.. Nebraska's offense really sucks. I'm impressed by their defense, but they have no hope in this game if they keep this shit up.
