I got the Toytec boss lift also. AAL in the rear, Total Chaos UCA. Truck is about 2.75 inches higher (on stock wheels and tires). Put on 17x8.5 wheels with Toyo 285/75/17 tires. Looks great. A little stiffer and it is noticeable. On street i haven't had any rubbing, but off road i get a slight rubber once in a while with the wheels cranked and the front end slams down hard. I'm going to look into shaving something if possible to reduce the rub.

I got 285/70/17 and my speedo is off by 4-5MPH. I'm told the dealer can recalibrate the computer, or you can buy some programmer thing and do it yourself. I'm gonna have the dealer do it next time i'm in for service.

A small handful of select mods.
That's cool if they can do that on 3rd gens. Definitely not something that could be done on a 2nd gen.

Ok im confused. If the 2016 comes with 1" of lift in the coil springs factory, then wouldn't a strut spacer of 2.5 or 3" lift the front past the 3" max on these trucks? Assuming that u used stock coils with the spacer. Also how would the stock coils work with the 5100 adjustables?

Sorry if this was covered already. I did try to read through this as much as possible but i didn't catch this info (1331 posts!).

I'm planning on swapping in icon shocks and uca's. I have the 650# and 700 # springs available. I would like to stick to stock height and wheels and tires. Which spring would be best (I'll only have a set of sliders on)?

Also, will the uca's bring the caster too far back at stock height and cause rubbing with the factory wheels and tires? I may raise the front to level but going to try keep it close to stock (have elementary school kids).

Thanks in advance for the help

Didn't read every page thus far but I'll tell you guys my situation:

55k miles on my 2013. I drive a lot. No money for a lift and tires right now. Have an SR5. I have someone selling me their 2016 OR takeoffs shocks and coils with 100 miles. What I gather is that I can swap them in, will see up to 1" of lift, and don't need to change control arms. Will the ride be too stiff? I read something about more spring rate than 886s and just got more confused...

Seems like a good idea, no? Am I missing anything?

I'm putting 5100's up front set at .85 to level out the rake but my question is would I benefit at all by replacing the rear with 5100's as well? I'm not planning to lift the rear but didn't know if it would justify replacing the stock Billy's with 5100's.

    It's on a '16 TRD sport DCSB 4x4

    None :-((. Yet :-))
So I am getting confused by mixed results here, so I'll just ask the question. I'm looking at the Boss complete kit from Toytech, yo that I am upgrading the rear with both 2" add a leafs as well as resavior shocks. In the front I would like to replace the UCA's, I'm leaning toward the total chaos, but don't know if I they are worth $300.00 more then the SPLC light racing arms. In the end I'm hoping to add the FNx wheels with 285 rubber. I can't figure out if I will need to add the 1" body lift to avoid rubbing, and would like to do this right once.

This feels like the best direction to go for me. I primarily do a lot of beach runs and moderate trails, because that's where I live, but I am also trying to set this truck for semi serious over landing out west and want it right. I'm not a huge risk taker with $35000 toys, but do like to use them. So Please give me some feed back as to wether I'm heading in the right direction.

Is there a better direction I should be looking for lifts, will this give me enough wheel clearance,

If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost for the Rotora kit?
    Thanks in advance

Rotora has different packages avail depending in the wheel size you will be using. They start of at 1800up

    Toyota's are awesome
Exactly correct. This is why we are recommending to stick with that 23" hub to fender mark since that will leave you with about 1.5 inches of shock down travel. Anything more than that will not leave enough room for the shock to travel whenever you hit a pothole or any bump and the shock will slam to full extension. This creates a slidehammer effect on the shock and will usually cause the shaft to rip out of the piston or the shaft to break off.

Now the difference between the 2nd gen and the 3rd gen is that 2nd gens come from the factory at 20 inches from the hub to fender and the 3rd gens come at 21.

I would say that SPC UCA's are a solid upgrade in terms of adjustability over the factory UCA's and the ball joint itself does have a good improvement in travel. However they are not a big increase in strength. If you are after a UCA that is stronger and can stand up to a lot more abuse than what the factory stuff would handle. Total Chaos all the way.

285's should be fine but its hard to say that you for sure will or will not rub as every 285 will be a slightly different size and where your tech sets the alignment can effect whether or not the tire rubs. I will say that most setups do run 285's will little or no issues
