I was hesitant to buy this stuff because of the brand, but it really puts a nice shine on..

It got up to 50 here today so I took Betty to the car wash and washed her with Turtle Wax Ice wash soap. Then while drying her off I used Eagle One Wax As U - Dry. Betty looks like she did the day day I picked her up. Black is beautiful!

I do not own a black vehicle right now but have been buying collinite 845 for the past 5 years to use for wax. It does better than any other wax i have tried. I had a black car while living in south florida and between all the salt water in the air and irrigation system it needed detailed every couple of months. Collins lasted 6 months with just one coating vs monthly with all other products I tried.

If it does what you want it to do then it's great. I personally don't use anything with fillers. The "designed for black cars" is marketing. The condition of your paint is what determines how much your truck will reflect light when it is clean. So no matter what the bottle says, the truck won't shine as much if it has swirl marks. Now it may look just slightly better due to fillers but the idea is to keep the truck swirl free and let that back paint shine shine shine. That's how I look at it and I look at it that way bc I did a lot of research before I bought a black truck. Now I'm kind of into detailing which I never had any interest in before.

Thanks for the input. What do you use when you want to detail?

Has anyone put the TRD pro wheel in matte gray on their 3rd gen black tacoma? I have seen a handful of trucks with black wheels but not the gray ones

Also are these the right backspacing to clear 285/70/17's without spacers? If not what about 275's

I use Blackfire products but I'm not going to argue they are the best. I just went with them for now and like what I have. Next time I need shampoo I'm going to pick up some chemical guys. autogeek.net is a great site for detailing products.

Not the wheels that are in post 786# but it matte gray. The same wheel i am asking about shows up for sale at the bottom of the page as products discussed in this thread. I like the ones you posted though in gray better than black. I guess I have just had too many black trucks and cars with black wheels and now I like dark gray wheels better.

Yeah the same wheels you have in gray. Do you know if you leveled your truck what the max sized tire you could run without needing spacers? I have seen post with 285's where they say no rubbing but I don't know if that with a spacer or not. I wish someone would make a spreadsheet of what works and make it a sticky. I stay confused with all the different backspacing and wheels and have had a truck that I disliked driving because I ordered the wrong backspacing after being told it would work

I have no knowledge of that stuff. When I see posts on suspension I just skip right over because I'm stock suspension with stock tires. Just follow the "what have you done to your 3rd gen today" thread. Every other post is about suspension, wheel and tire size.

I'll finally getting around to posting my pics this weekend. Wanted to wait until I had the dealer goodies and the replacement grill installed. That was last weekend and what a difference they made in the truck's appearance! This weekend will be nice enough to hand wash and put a coat of was on him. Pics coming soon. In the meantime, loving all the pics being posted !

Thanks I haven't followed that thread. Just this one and about lifting your taco thread. Some other guy says he has a slight rub with 285's in that thread
