You mean which ones you're gunna want? Look up and get yourself familiar with what shock valving does for your needs/application. You have three different options there since with the 2.5/3" lift you want, youre gunna want one of those three 10" shocks.

Youre gettin a 3 inch lift in the rear right? If so id personally go with the 10".

@TIPICOTACO has the wheelers 5 pack which is 1.5" lift and also running an AAL, im guessing a 1.5" also. Maybe he can chime in. But thats 3 inches and he is using the 10 inchers...

 

Eventually 3 inch. As of right now I plan on getting progressive AAL off wheelers that is only 1.5. Eventually id like to get all pro Expediton springs which I think are still only 2.5, I guess this means I should just get the 8s and shut up.

 

Get the 10's, the OME shocks are great but they are also 2" too short.
Get the 10's.
I have similar on my truck after I stretched an OME shock a little bit.

 

On wheelers they have the 8.13s, I was told if I get 10s I need bigger bump stops so I don't blow up my shocks, have you have problems with this? What Leaf springs do to you have?

 

You will need bigger bumps regardless of the shock length, this is a given.
I mean a simple formula will tell you that 3" of lift will prolly need a 3" taller bump.
That's not entirely accurate, but it's a good start. FYI, I have not added these myself, I need to and so do you.

I have the 3" lift OME rears, but my truck is older so it uses a shorter leaf pack than yours does so I have less overall flex/travel than you will have.

If you go back further into the thread you'll see where I mucked around with changing stock locations.

You'll notice the extended length is 3" longer but the collapsed length is only 2" longer...I have not bottomed them out yet.

yes, yes it does.
Nobody can give you an exact answer due to the different lifts, different years, and the different uses of said lift.

Best you can do is install your lift, and cycle the suspension in the ways others have mentioned. A full bed load and a jack under one side will get you close to full compression.
Then break out the tape measure and start writing stuff down.

 

Tight budgets suck, don't have much to spare at all.

 

Hauled 2 tons of sand a few weekends ago (1 ton at a time.) I'm running OME 883s up front on nitrocharger sports and Dakars + aal in the back. Did just fine, only hauled it about a mile or so to help a buddy landscape his yard. Pretty proud of how it did!

With the 10" you will have more than enough droop for the progressive AAL and still have enough when you upgrade to the Expos. The extended bump stops will prevent you from bottoming out with either leaf set-up

But like said above ge tthe 10's reguardless of 1.5 or 3" lift. Since youre on a super tight budget you can make extended bumps for a few bucks! Just get some square tubing and bolt a piece of it to the upper stop thats on the frame.

Also it seems you should just get a new spring pack from the get go. The progressive aal's arent super cheap, seems like just saving a bit more and going full pack replacement from the start would be better. You get what you want the first time around and end up saving cash by only making one purchase.
