Normally, I have very still hands--i'm the dude that everyone has put on their phone screen protector because I put them on so well :)

To my surprise, I actually messed up the first 'T'. Even with wetting the truck and the letters, the adhesive is still very sticky and adheres quickly.

But yeah overall, pretty easy. Just take your time.

Good to know. I'll probably be a nervous wreck then and ready to buy another set the day I put them on .

@stan23 Thanks. I just went in and bought a second one just in case. If you need a new "T" or I'll pay it forward if everything goes off without all hell breaking loose lol. I suck at decals.

Just spray the shit out of both the truck and the adhesive side of the decal with the soap/water mix and you will be fine. Doesn't start sticking at all until you press the water out.

The reflective is a bit more difficult to work with than the matte black vinyl. As some have discovered it can tear much easier because it does not stretch. You need to peel it very slowly from the backing paper.

Also, it tends to stick very quickly to the truck, even with a lot of water. With the matte decals you can apply them wet and easily slide them into proper position. The reflectives don't slide when applied wet but the water allows you to remove and reapply them easily. I suggest that you hold a corner so that you can lift the decal, if needed, until it is properly aligned in the stamped letter. Once your are satisfied with the position then you press the entire decal down. Once you let go it will be difficult to remove and reposition.

My decals arrived last week and I found the time to put them on. I love the look of these and very happy with the product!!! Maybe I put a little too much dish soap in my solution, but I had NO problem with the letters sticking too fast. In fact, quite the opposite. I had a ridiculous amount of time to position the letter, and found that it moved around very easily when pushing water out. The key was to start light and gradually apply more pressure. If you follow the directions, I say there's little chance of messing them up. If you're new to this kinda thing, the first letter can be a learning experience, but hey, that's why the extra "T" is thrown in :) Thanks for the great product @rrentrop !!

Figured this might be a good thread to ask this question - my tailgate is often wiped out with dirt/mud, when I go to shut the tailgate I feel like It's inevitable that I will scratch the heck out of the pant on the top of the tailgate from my hand rubbing the dirt on the paint. Thinking of finding a roll of clear bra material and covering the top 4 or 5 inches of the tailgate to prevent the scratches. Any idea which material would work best and would be easy to work with?

Great question. This is one of the first mods I did. I used a 3"x60" roll of 3M Scotchguard Clear Bra film from Amazon.

It requires a little trimming to fit for width and to round the corners but it fits the overhanging part of the tailgate perfectly.

So far, just a Hard Hat tonneau cover. Looking for mud guards and nerf boards.
How much are these? My wife is getting a little tired of boxes arriving. Thanks.

I have had some friends that have done window tinting. Their trick was baby shampoo diluted with water to put on the window and tint. This kept things able to be moved around with out sticking. Once things are in place press down on the tint/sticker and squeeze the water out.

Works really well. I will have my stickers on Friday and will try this when I put them on.

Just an idea for anyone struggling with applying these.

    Ordered!

    As a side note,

When applying motorcycle decals I've always used a mix of rubbing alcohol and water. That way the alcohol can just evaporate out easily.

Might not work with this type of application depending on the type of adhesive though.

@rrentrop thanks for the quick shipping. Got them on Tuesday and going on Saturday.

@stan23 Thanks for the offer to help. Going to brave this one out and give it a shot...slow and steady. You mentioned your first "T" didn't go on perfect....did you end up getting the second "T" on, or did you need one?

@AFMurse2014 Putting these on Saturday afternoon. I'll shoot you a PM afterwards and we'll make arrangements to get you the second set I have.

use very minor soapy water and you can move them exactly where you want them and then heat them up with a hair dryer or heat gun to seal the deal ;)

The reflective ones don't really move at all even after wetting the decal and the truck. That caught me by surprise.
